The Garrison

Ok. My wife told me to omit the weighted rubric - so here goes. On/in every category, The Garrison knocks it out of the park. The service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. The ambiance was a cozy industrial. The food was nothing short of fantastic and worth every penny. It is rare that a restaurant hits the mark - dead center - from appetizers to desserts. We started with the Firecracker Shrimp and the Sauerkraut Potato Puffs. Shrimp was lightly fried and in a spicy honey sauce. The Kraut Puffs were again lightly fried and delicious. Mac N' Cheese topped with buffalo chicken was fantastic. The fish and chips large and cooked to perfection. We will be back to try the quesadilla, cavatappi, and steak. For dessert we had the warm brownie with ice cream. Soft and gooey with a firm edge, nothing was bad about this delicate delictible dessert drizzled with caramel sauce. The peach infused bourbon was delicious as was the rum punch - each was made by a master bartender. We are in town for a wedding but will make the 2 hour trip again for a weekend getaway!

We were back home in Ohio for my Father's funeral. The Garrison was suggested by my cousin who lives in Fremont. It was an ideal spot for us to have a large group of our family gather to reconnect and fellowship over good food and drink. The menu has lots of variety, the prices are reasonable, the staff attentive, the food delicious, and the atmosphere and ambiance as comfortable as a pair of sheepskin slippers! BTW.. I have never had sauerkraut puffs before. They were SO good!!! Absolutely melt in your mouth! I will definitely return just to have them. So now I have two fantastic Fremont Ohio delicacies to return for.. perch at the Tackle Box 2 and the sauerkraut puffs at the Garrison!

Food was delicious!! I ordered the sirloin steak salad. My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. We had a large party in the private room and our serving staff was fantastic and made sure everyone was happy. The atmosphere and space was great! This was my first visit to The Garrison and we will definitely return.

On Thursday I visited The Garrison to have dinner with my Dad and brother. Our dinner was unique in that this is my first dinner ever with my Dad. When I arrived I let your hostess know that this was our first dinner and we would probably be emotional, as well as occupy the table for the evening. The Garrison immediately offered their private room to us for the evening and provided us with a top notch server named Liz. Liz provided excellent service, was attentive and still respectful of our time. She made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was delicious and reminded me of my favorite restaurant here in Indiana. I want to thank The Garrison and Liz for making a lifelong dream come true for this middle aged lady. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup.

Wonderful meal a great price, and fantastic service you watched everybody work together to make sure the meals were served hot and promptly. Not sure who the nice guy was maybe the owner a manager that told us to have drinks upstairs why we were waiting for our table, great guy and very kind. Only thing I would say is if you get the salmon it is a great price but a very small portion, but delicious it'd be nice if they offer a little bigger portion for more money. Not a complaint at all because it was a fantastic meal and we absolutely will come back!!

I've rarely left a review but I had to as soon as we walked in the door. Wow is all I have to say really! We absolutely loved this place. The food was excellent - Pulled Pork Nachos to start, they were phenomenal, so the bar for entrees was set pretty high. Then they came out. omg, I haven't had a meal that good since my guys home cooked dinner the night before! The drinks were awesome, the price was great and our server Rosemary was attentive and completely on top of things. She was fantastic and we will request her as our server when we come back. All and all this place makes you feel as though your in a city, things are moving, and the times are a changing. Love it. Cannot say it enough. One of my new favorite restaurants.
