State Draft House

Don’t pass on this little gem. Awesome selection of Texas Craft Brews, super friendly and attentive bar tenders, and amazing smoked brisket poutine. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. I am a huge fan after just one visit. Oh, and if sports is your thing, they have plenty of screens for viewing. Or if you are like me, you can just people watch.

So let me start by saying if your just want a beer and appetizer, go here. Great atmosphere. As far as food goes, that is where it earned the 3 stars. First we ordered the onion rings appetizer and when it finally came with our meal what we got was plain onion rings (their normal side). In a way that was good because that gave us an opportunity to taste them in their original state. Touted as sweet crispy onion rings, what we received were not that sweet and a bit greasy. They weren't horrible, but honestly Sonic has better onion rings. I ordered at $14 hamburger and ordered it cooked medium. I was surprised by two things, first it wasn't very big for the cost and it camr medium well to well. Because it took so long to arrive I didn't dare send it back. The taste was good, but how hard is it to cook a burger medium? My wife had the grilled turkey sandwich on toast and said it was good but nothing she would rush back for. I ordered a local root beer and was surprised it wasn't ice cold. Pretty much everything from a draft house should be around 32 degrees. Bottom line, for great beer selection and sports bar atmosphere it is great, as a restaurant, there are much better choices.

The beers were great! And the food was even better! We ordered the fish and chips and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich was amazing!(little spicy but great) A long with other appetizers we definitely left full and happy! We will be back and try more items on the menu for sure :) staff was friendly and helpful being our first time. Cant wait for the next date night.
