District Dumplings

The dumplings are okay at best. I did not like the fact that dye or food coloring was added to some of my dumplings. I do not like to eat anything that has artificial dye, so I cut off the colored parts from my dumplings. On top of that, all they gave were little plastic packets of the most basic soy sauce. I like my dumplings with more flavorful soy sauce, chopped scallions, fresh grated ginger, white vinegar, and oily hot pepper sauce. Their ginger and date tea was good and the people working here were nice. This is a nice little spot, but could use some improvement in my opinion.

I was really excited to try these dumplings, and they did not disappoint. I liked being able to mix and match their variety of dumplings fillings. I got the pork & Chinese celery, bulgogi beef, basil chicken, Buddha’s choice, and squash & cheese dumplings, and they were all tasty and warm. My only issues was packaging and identification. The dumplings were nestled right next to each other in the box, so many of them stuck together and tore open when I pulled them out. Despite the color coding, it was impossible to tell which filling was in each dumpling. It was a bit of dumpling roulette. But, I got fillings I knew I would like, so I wasn’t particularly concerned.
