Top rated for very good reasons including food, ambience and service. Way better for steak lovers who want juicy tasty char grilled than few other overrated Bergen County famous places who do not offer thick enough cuts. Pricey so know before you go. Plan to use free valet or allow time for hard to find parking and possibly walk blocks in downtown Englewood. Most portions are generous to share. There is always room for their tiramisu.

We decided to try Sofia for our date lunch, which seemed like a promising fine dining spot. We were able to find street parking right in front of the restaurant, but the offer valet too. On first glance, it’s hard to tell which is their entrance door, I have seen few guests opening the neighboring doors first. Once we went inside, it was really pretty, felt like a neat place. Well decorated, separate bar area, a doom in the middle open to sunlight . For food, we decided to try the Grilled Octopus, half baked chicken, and spaghetti lobster. Octopus was decent. The chicken was good well, but over powered by the pepperoncini, wayyyy too many of them. For lobster, we were surprised it wasn’t already curved out for us. We had to really put in some work to get the lobster meat out of its shell. Usually in such upscale dining restaurants, we see more sophisticated plating of such dishes, so that guests don’t need to get messy with their hands. I was also underwhelmed by the service. Seemed like our server took our order and filled our water glasses because it’s his job, not that he has any interest. Also we waited for a while after finishing our meal, to get our check. Overall an average experience, expected much more from this place , after my first impression. Food taste - 4/5 Food prep time - 5/5 Service - 3/5 Price - $$$$

I have had this restaurant on my list for awhile and was ready to give it a try. I made reservations for 1pm and when I arrived I used valet for parking. I walked in and was ready to sit at a table but I was brought all the way to the back. I preferred to sit at the bar and sat there instead. Kareem and Isabella were our bartenders. I started with the red sangria and my friend had a drink. Both weren't bad at all. For entrées I got the clam linguini and my friend got the shrimp salad. My meal was ok. It wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be but it wasn't that bad. My friend enjoyed her salad until she got to the last piece of shrimp. She felt it wasn't cooked well and started to feel itchy in her throat and tongue. I had to tell the bartender because I started to freak out and he told the male manager and he didn't seem fazed. I went to find the female manager and she was more accommodating and she took off the shrimp and we rushed out. My friend ended up being ok after she got some Benadryl. Thank God! I do appreciate the female manager for helping.

Came here for the first time after hearing about it from a few friends. The busser Orlando was amazing, he actually was more welcoming and attentive than our server, so thank you Orlando!! He should be promoted to serving (if that's something he wants). The atmosphere was very welcoming. We were sat in the back terrace which has an open ceiling concept and it was extremely aesthetically pleasing. My friend and I both had the filet, a side of the garlic mashed potatoes, and their brussel sprouts. One of the BESTTTT filets I have ever had. Extremely juice and tender and now my top fav. The mashed potatoes didn't have too much flavor to discuss but the brussel sprouts certainly made up for it and did not disappoint. My friend and I were both very pleased with the experience overall and we definitely look forward to return.
