Great place. Friendly staff. Only popped in for a couple of pints. Staff difused the fight between 2 older men a tad drunk but sent on there separate ways. Added to the entertainment that I know all too well about the bar industry. :)

I had to wait for my Kebab to be cooked up the road so we stopped and had a beer.
It was in really good condition (Butcombe Haka) and as it was warmer outside, we sat on the seats outside and watched Ely go by. A great selection of real ale as well.

It was nice and quiet and the food was great and a good price for burger and a drink!

Love this pub. Serves good pub grub for a reasonable price, good choice of drinks, air con (life saver when camping in summer) and they allow dogs! Which is great for our little dog.

I came in for brunch on Monday feeling hot and bothered from the heat and despite the my short tempered manner I want to praise the staff for their professionalism and customer focus. I would particularly like to thank Suzi, please forgive me if the spelling is wrong, her friendly manner and attitude towards making my visit the best it could be meant the bar was literally an oasis for me. Thank you Suzi, thank you Hereward

Visiting family for a while in Ely, decided to try out the local pub. Food was good but the best part was the service & atmosphere of the Hereward. Chatted to one of the staff - Felix - he was very friendly and told me he’d be off to university in London (my home!) to become a video game artist. I wish him well.

Excellent food! Hot and tasty. Mmmm… Service and dashing looks from Felix and Bradley was absolutely amazing!!! Would highly recommend!! Incredibly handsome staff… 🤩🤩🥰

They are very lucky to have such a good team like Suzi, Steve and chef Chris. They are always smiling and and can't do enough for you. Love their breakfasts.
