Chow Grill

Beautiful and a great place for a night out on date or just to enjoy a nice 🍹 or cocktail 🍸 And why not, some good food too. Nice combination a of modern and rustic feeling place, which is kind of cool! Being here couple times and the experience has always been great!! Nachos were excellent and I had Chow momma drink 🍹 Very tasty. And wouldn’t mind ordering it again. Great place! Try it! 👍🏽🍹

Was hearing that the chow I went to around was no longer what it was, with slow service and degrading food. So glad I didn’t listen to it all. With a pizza this big and the fries as good as I remember, it’s like nothing ever went wrong. Could do with a bit more organization with the wait staff, but nothing dealbreaking at all

When Chow first opened it was amazing. We adored it, then they lost their chef and have gone downhill. Obviously they have other chefs but honestly they’re not that great. Their meat selections are good but anything else is not worth it. A box of Kraft Mac n cheese has 10x more flavor than Chow’s. Their coleslaw tastes of raw cabbage and that’s it. The list goes on. Very very bland. Their brisket and chicken are pretty good however their pork is mediocre. The love in their food is gone, and yea inflation is crazy but a pinch of salt goes a long way. Both my husband and I don’t think they’re worth the price or going at all anymore.

My husband and I go to Chow frequently as it's one of the nicer restaurants close to our home. Last night we went out for a quick dinner with our son, however there ended up being an issue with the pizza we ordered and they were going to need to remake it as the rest of the food was coming out. This made our quick dinner turn into a much longer dinner than anticipated, which is sometimes tricky with a 1 year old. The server was very polite and apologetic. Without asking, the manager came over and apologized, took the pizza off the bill and sent us home with a free dessert. Completely unnecessary, as we are very understanding that sometimes these things happen but this service-recovery in this situation went above and beyond expectations and will be the reason we continue to support and recommend this restaurant.

This is a pretty simple review. I've been here numerous times and it's all the same experience. Pros: Relatively kind wait staff, clean environment. Cons: The absolute SLOWEST wait on food I've ever experienced. Ticket time was over 45 minutes on 3 orders on a Tuesday evening (30% capacity at most). Mediocre food that's usually fairly cold and soggy by the time it reaches the table. You really don't see your waitress often... so most of the negative reviews are spot on. Overpriced, slow to get food, and it's just not super impressive.

Overall, an extremely disappointing experience. We were very excited to come for some of the BBQ and atmosphere. Of the good things we experienced: ample parking, great smells, very friendly host/hostess and seated almost immediately when we walked in at 6:15 PM on a Friday. After this the experience went significantly downhill. The waitress assigned to the table was not pleasant and often began walking away while we were talking, was inattentive, and basically disappeared for a significant portion of our time. Our appetizer came out in 5-10 minutes (this was good). Our drinks took another 5 minutes. We had to ask for water twice before we received any. Brought out only one for my wife, then had to ask a third time for water for myself. We ordered dinner at the same time as ordering our drinks. Two orders of brisket with sides. This took 45-50 minutes before it came to our table. Our drinks were empty as the waitress had not been by in 25-30 minutes. The food came out warm at best; the mac and cheese had a layer and the top pasta was dried from sitting under the warmer for an excessive amount of time. The mac and cheese should have been the item that wasn't already prepared, if anything, since brisket takes hours. The place wasn't super packed, and no big parties were visible to have backed up the kitchen; nor did the waitress stop to let us know things were taking longer than expected...she just didn't come back until after someone else brought our food. We watched subsequent patrons be sat and get their food prior to us (ribs, burgers, pizzas, etc). We also watched other waitresses check on their tables frequently, either directly or from the periphery. The icing on the cake was that the brisket, which again we had to wait 45-50 minutes for, came out mostly fat (see photo). I expect some fat. Not a slab of it. Overall, this was a terrible experience. I try to provide positive reviews whenever I can for restaurants and tried to find the good in this one, but for a ~$80 meal I expect much better. I do not plan to return to this restaurant nor can I recommend it. Tip for anyone thinking about going - take the extra 15-20 minutes and drive to Rockwoods in Otsego. Better service, better BBQ and same prices. We've been there numerous times and have never been disappointed. Edit: I did reach out to the owner who informed me, in summary, that they get things right about 80% of the time and that I should return to pay for another meal to give them another chance.

First time going to Chow tonight. We were seated right away but that was the only good thing about the restaurant. Food was poor, I ordered the American burger and the bun was soggy and dripping. Waiter took our order and literally did not come back the entire time. We order the nacho appetizer, which chips were BURNT, asked for serving plates and never got them. kitchen staff brought out the food, I had gotten the wrong fries but couldn't get the correct ones because the waiter never came back. The server served every other table around us and never checked on us or got us refills on drinks I had to ask the manager if we could get a server over to our table because we were ready to leave. Will not be coming back.

My husband and I went here for a date and we’re both very underwhelmed. The restaurant was fairly busy when we got there at 1pm on a Friday. Our waitress brought us water and pop right away but then got caught up with all her other tables as there was only 2 waitresses working. We waited over half an hour before being able to order as I stopped the hostess to ask for our waitress. I ordered the brisket with two sides and my husband ordered the rib Mac and cheese. The warmest thing on my plate was my asparagus. The muffin was extremely dry. The Mac and cheese side was not very warm plus very soupy and was small. The brisket tasted like roast and wasn’t barely warm. The toast underneath was probably the best part of my meal. My husbands Mac and cheese should have been ordered off the soup menu. Also for a rib Mac and cheese it was lacking rib meat and the meat that was there was dry and not tasty. Overall definitely don’t recommend and honestly regret going here for a date. Considering last week we went to famous Dave’s as a family and our whole tab was the same as just my meal we’ll definitely go to famous Dave’s if we want bbq.
