Blaneys Backyard Grille

Won't be back. Eggrolls are a gross frozen mess. Raw fries were good. My friend had fries. They were mushy and filled with grease. Hamburger was fry. French dip had no flavor. There were several males in the bat area that had already had 1 too many. They were loud and kept using the "f" word that could be heard plainly even though we were in the front by the window. There were only 2 other people there for the food.. they left as quickly as we did.. They only get a 2 because if our server...she deserves better than this place!

A few friends and I ordered a few things off of their menu to try out the variety. In total we had fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, grilled chicken wrap, both garlic parmesan and hot wings, fries and a loaded nacho. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quantity. Everything was absolutely delicious, I have no complaints. Definitely returning next time I'm in town.

Wish this place could be better. We need a great little pub downtown. But the food was very greasy, chicken tasted like old fish from the dirty fry grease. There is not much on the menu that isn’t fried in the dirty fry grease either. We had a large party and many of us didn’t finish or barely touch our meals. No offers to resolve issues from the server. Even upon explaining that the chicken was bad- the server did nothing. No remakes, no credits on the bill- nothing. Service was ok. Food was not on par for the almost $200 we spent. We won’t be back.

This is the first time eating in with them but we did take out some food also about a year ago. The burgers are great, best in town. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Cajun shrimp meal. Service was fast and friendly. It's not a "cheap" place to feed the family but it is a solid choice in Elgin for good American eats.
