I've purchased from here 3 times and I've yet to be disappointed! Two times were on DoorDash, and this most recent time was in person. They offer fresh/ready to serve cupcakes in many flavors, but not so many that it's overwhelming to choose. I also purchased some cake pops. The decor is really speaking appealing too!

We ordered an 8-inch wedding cake! The size was okay for 11 people. We cut the slices big enough. I sent a design online and it was very impressive that they made a similar one! It was a chocolate-flavored icing cake with real white flowers! The design and chocolate parts were amazing, but we found the icing part too sweet! The price was affordable for a medium wedding cake! (I'm not a super fan of icing though.) (Between $100 and $150 USD) The communication was nice! They responded to me fast! The cake was very on time as they promised. Thank you for their efforts :)

This year I decided to celebrate my cat’s, Luna, 12th birthday and pet stores don’t carry baked goods for cats so I did what a normal person would do and I got a gourmet cupcake. Sign said baked that day, so I was happy about that. The price was lower than I imagined and they had one named birthday, so win right there but they had maybe 6 choices. My cat especially liked the frosting and the cake part was moist. I got a punch card because I plan on coming back and not just on Luna’s birthday. BTW the cupcake made the party a big hit!

I ordered a six pack of the vegan version of the hot fudge sundae cupcake. They were so good! The cake was moist and the frosting was just the right amount of sweetness. I'm personally not vegan so I can't compare them to vegan cupcakes elsewhere, but if I hadn't been the one who bought them I would have just assumed they were one of their non vegan offerings. The cupcakes were large and could definitely be split between two adults. If ordering for young kids I'd recommend ordering mini cupcakes. The online/phone ordering process was easy. I will definitely order more in the future.

I love Smallcakes. Even though they are a chain, I enjoy the weekly features. With over 200 flavors I always find something new to try. The Durham location had Mudslide, a devils food cake with coffee cream cheese filling, chocolate frosting, and topped with a few chocolate chips. I had to try it! When we arrived Emylia greeted us and was very friendly. But then she broke my heart and said they were all out of the Mudslide cupcakes. After finding out that I was visiting the area and drove over to get this one cupcake… she made me one. Thank you Emylia! It was so good. I’m a chocoholic and am always looking for a new way to enjoy it. It was moist, decadent, and worth my begging and sob story. The shop is super cute with a chandelier and happy bright decor. They have plenty of options and they all looked yummy. Emylia told us their sister store is right around the corner from Charlotte in Huntersville, NC. Smallcakes didn’t disappoint in this flavor. The only thing that could have made it better would be an adult version. Stop in if you are looking for a sugar fix, need dessert options to celebrate your special occasion, or want to surprise your coworkers, friends or family with a sweet treat. They are sure to have something to please everyone.

I went in to order some cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party. The black girl in the front seemed to be disengaged and uninterested in helping. She didn’t even bother to explain the prices or how it works. She was on her phone, super rude and made me feel like I was bothering her. When I asked her a question, it was just one word answer and rolling eyes. So I asked if I came in at the wrong time. Then she seemed to be a little bit more aware of her behavior but she was still very unhappy to help. I was going to order my cake here but wasn’t in a mood to spend $100 at a spot that made me feel this way. I understand it is hard to find good workers right now but please do not put a staff like that in the front of your store. The girl that was working in the back was super friendly and happy to help. Stopped by to ruin my afternoon for nothing.

I came home to find two cupcakes had been delivered for my birthday today. Unfortunately, they were left on my porch, not wrapped in cellophane, and were COVERED IN ANTS! I called to report the issue and was told there was nothing they could do - no replacements & no credit either. I'll never know if their cupcakes are good because, after this, I'll never be a customer! 😡
