Denny's

I went here with my family at the last minute....there were 8 of us including 3 children. We were easily accommodated and waited on very quickly. The menu has enough options for even the finicky eaters. We weren't rushed to leave for other guests and the food came quickly as well. A good time was had by all & we will be back the next time we're in the area.

Service was good to get seated; however, it went downhill after that. It was at least 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Then our food order was taken and it's taken close to 30 minutes for the food. 7 staff behind the service bar. Restaurant 60% full. The plates came out with crusted food on 3 of the 4 plates. We asked for the manager. The "acting" manager came over and we showed her the plates. We asked for the manager and we showed and told the manager the plates were filthy. I'm not a big fan of Denny's to begin with, but this just justifies my reasoning.

So hubby and I decided to eat out for Sunday brunch. We expected for it to be busy because it was Sunday and we were seated right away. We got our drinks and starter. The service was long so we ended up Dow i g our beverages. We kept asking for a refill but it never came. Then our food came out. I ordered the fried fish platter with fries and a side of pancakes and my husband ordered the country fried steak with pancakes. He got his pancakes and when he tried it the pancakes tasted like pepper. My fish batter wasn’t cooked right which caused me to eat the fries. Finally my pancakes were brought out and they were so dark!!! And the texture were hard as nails! I called the waitress over and she told us that they were out of all types of juice and lemonade and also lemon for water. She brought us sprites but we asked for orange twice. They had orange juice but the flavor was lost as if i was drinking water instead of orange juice. I told her about the pancakes and she took the plate and threw it down on the table across from us. Normally we always understand with some businesses because it can be busy and we always try with respect but this service and food was horrible. Next time we will just take the drive to Raleigh. The fries and onion rings were good.

Who likes toast without butter? I certainly don’t. This was my second visit here. The restaurant is very understaffed. Attention to detail is lacking. There is no focus on the customer experience (at no time was I asked if everything was all right, not even by the manager while I was paying for my ordeal). The sole waitress was doing her best, but when you juggle too many balls; they get dropped. This place needs to hire more people and pay more attention to detail.

We went for a later dinner and many of the tables were dirty when we walked in. There were only 2 tables of other diners eating. I had the turkey club sandwich which was very good on the 7 grain bread. My husband had country fried steak. The gravy was extremely salty. The waitress did not come back to check on us until we finally got her attention at the end of the meal to refill our beverages.

So it's Denny's. Food is about as good as a chain restaurant can get. I prefer the breakfast menu rather than the burgers, sandwiches, or dinner meals. Service was good on my visit. We were seated, order taken, and food served promptly. Food was average but I was pleased with the service. Price was also inexpensive so the food reflected what you're paying for.

Waitress was very customer friendly. However, for that place to be empty, service was the worst. The slowest service in history. Had to keep asking my waitress for certain things only not to ever receive, until I was walking out the door. Order pancakes with my meal, received everything but pancakes 🥞 Was told that she would bring them right on. Only to receive the pancakes🥞after the meal was eaten, then waited for another 15 minutes. No 🥞 pancakes. When asked about them, she tells me hat she thought someone else brought to me. Thought I was her customer. If you don't mind waiting for your order for over 30 minutes(especially when the place is empty), having to continuously ask your waitress for a glass of water, silverware, butter or whatever and never receive them and getting one half of your meal 30 minutes after ordering and the other half another 30 minutes after receiving the first half. Then this is the place for you. As for me, they had me with the friendliness, but after the services I received I would never patronage or recommend Denny's. And I mean all Denny's to a lab 🐭 rat
