Visited Cod’s Gift for lunch & was delighted by the atmosphere & decor inside! So unexpected out in Dural! The waiter was very friendly and the food was very nice & presented in such an interesting way! A lovely, special lunch. We really enjoyed it!

We had lunch last week for Mother’s day. The food is ok, nothing outstanding except the Mussels in coconut milk. My sister really enjoyed it. But the Flathead fillet was not good. Salmon also has no taste.
The great point was the ambient & decor was beautiful.

This venue’s location is quite secluded in the small shopping centre in Dural. Don’t let it stop you from visiting though. As a matter of fact, you have to pay a visit so you can experience what I experienced.
Came for early Sunday dinner with my family, we were absolutely astounded with the quality of the dishes. From the entree, main to dessert, every dish was beautifully plated, sophisticated and wonderful in taste.
The dishes we had and loved:
Scallops, Pork Belly, Gnocchi, Lobster Donuts, Duck, Tempura Prawns, Coffee Panna Cotta, Poached Pear and Chocolate Mousse.
I loved everything as every dish had complex flavours with the perfect combination of textures. If I had to pick my favourites, it has to be the Pork Belly, Lobster Donuts, Scallops and Coffee Panna Cotta.
Highly recommend!

This our second time eating at Cods Gift. The seafood is excellent and cooked to perfection. The wine list is very good and there’s also a bar serving a great range of cocktails. The wait staff are friendly and attentive.. The decor is modern and fresh. Cods Gift is tucked away in the Dural shops and definitely worth trying.

So sophisticated yet cozy! And the interior is just stunning! Looks like you’re sitting at a water front restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem in Dural. Food was just divine! And the staff was so incredibly friendly, gave us attention and great recommendations! Every now and then I crave the lobster donuts!

Cod's Gift continues the tradition of Wolfe & Co. While Wolfe & Co. brought great cafe fare to Round Corner, Cod's Gift ups the refinement and brings sustainably caught seafood to the area. Each of the dishes presented to us was beautifully plated. Think a licorice sauce and John Dory is weird? It's sublime, with the sweet yet savoury flavour really holding the dish together. Smoked peas and heirloom carrots are perfect accompaniments. The bisque with crab Dumpling and urchin roe transported me to Cape Cod and some of the best bisque I have sampled. It was rich, exquisitely seasoned and packed with bags of flavour. What we loved about Cod's Gift is that they have a kids menu too. We didn't mind picking at our daughter's fish and chips and is a good primer to the takeaway fish and chips service which has recently opened. Rounding out our meal, we shared a dessert simply titled Chocolate. It was a whole lot more though. Milk chocolate mousse with dark chocolate sorbet was equal parts rich and intense. Definitely a great fine diner in Sydney's north west.

Wow what a find in Dural. The last place you would expect to find a fish and chippery, but they bring the elegance of the ocean to the area. Everything tastes delicious and is done with passion and care. Love this place!

Seafood restaurant far away from the seaside. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. Will definitely be coming back.

We came with our Scoopon voucher. Nice and cozy atmosphere, I like the decoration style. As we are using voucher, some limitations applied, but still ok for a 3 courses with wine dining. Half a dozen oysters for entree - oysters were a bit too dry, still fresh but you can tell it has been opened and sits on the plate for a while. Our mains were grilled salmon and lobster with linguine - both very tasty! You can actually taste the freshness of the seafood, they were both well seasoned too! However the portion of salmon dish was too small, even for a lady... desserts were delicious, the complimentary wine was nice too.

A super wicked brunch line up focused around stunning seafood. The DIY gin cured salmon blinis were stunning, the softshell crab burger was epic, the pastas were next level authentic and velvety. Could not speak more highly of the food and the superbly creative tea infused cocktails. Beautiful decor and layout. Cannot wait to go back.

I’d been wanting to come to Cod’s Gift in Dural for the longest time, for it has a reputation for having some of Sydney’s best seafood dishes.

After 2 years of anticipation, I finally mustered up the energy to trek 2 hours across town for lunch.

Between the two of us, we POLISHED this ENTIRE platter, gnocchi, lamb, and fish and chips - the equivalent of 5 main meals.

Clearly, I was starving for these gifts 😂

One might not expect to find some of Sydney’s best seafood in the Hills town of Dural. But that’s exactly what awaits at Cod’s Gift. When we visited for lunch there were actually so many wows.

The room is awash with royal blue and aquamarine. Comfortable gold basket chairs stuffed with turquoise clam shell cushions alternate with black metal dining chairs cushioned with plush royal blue. Over a long, padded deep blue banquette, two well-chosen abstract artworks draw from the same reduced colour palette. Marble table tops - some with gold edges – and backlit marble room dividers, provide a sense of luxury; while twine-wrapped Monstera deliciosa plants inject a touch of the exotic. Over a Salt’n’Vinegar Martini ($21) rimmed with black salt and topped with a cloud of vinegar foam that you’d be wise not to inhale, I muse that Cod’s Gift certainly isn’t what I expected as I made my way to Dural for lunch. Gin & Juice ($20) - my second selection from the ambitious list of signature cocktails - teams gin with dragon fruit and watermelon. They stop the pink potion from being cloyingly sweet...

I was utmost disappointed. After hearing the hype about this place we decided to check it out. Interior of the place was pretty, it was quite blue and felt relaxing so aesthetic did relate to the whole seafood cuisine.
Oysters were not available and their lobster donuts; their donuts was a hard texture and it tasted like it was stale. I was hoping for warm soft donuts but that didn’t happen. I ordered the Vongole & Diamond Clam as my main. The food came out and I questioned why it was angel hair pasta instead of squid ink pasta stated on the menu. (And it was also super oily and very bland). The chef said squid ink pasta wasn’t available. I’m disappointed and felt this place was soo unorganised. You’d think the chef would notify their staff regarding the unavailable ingredients so at least the staff can notify the customers. We got a discount for my dish but this place just left a bad taste in my mouth. The only positive thing I could say was their Eye Fillet was superb, it was juicy and tender (I’d recommend this plate).

Was pretty disappointed in most aspects of my visit. Very pricey for what you get and I would have got quicker, cheaper and tastier service from my local takeaway. Won’t return

This little gem in the hills surprised me. Booked a table for 6 for a birthday. The staff were amazing and accomodating. I couldn't thank them enough. They really made the evening pleasant.

We ordered some share plates which were the sashimi and prawn tempura. Both were delicious and hit the spot. Ordered our mains which were the snapper and fish+chips. We devoured all our dishes.

I'd definitley come back here. Loved the staff, food and ambience.

Out of a couple of hundred venues I dined at in 2017 Cod’s Gift came in at Number 18. It was an endless supply of food that was being presented from a master in the art of plating, and then the flavours matched the plating skills. Dural demands a day trip peeps!

Cod's Gift is a restaurant focused on sustainable sourced seafood in Dural in Sydney's north west. The interior is beautiful and lush, with velvet, brass and marble featuring heavily among the blue and green tones. The menu is definitely not your standard fish and chips fare. We started off with half dozen of the Sydney Rock oysters from Merimbula in NSW. They were dressed with a Caramelised cabarnet vinegar with escallot and native pepper; and house ponzu with finger lime. The oysters were plump and creamy and I would have been perfectly happy to eat them with just a squeeze of lemon, but the dressings added an extra dimension to them.

In Short: Cod’s Gift is a seafood restaurant and bar located in Dural, that showcases amazingly fresh sustainably-sourced seafood paired with good wine and cocktails. They also have a take-away counter, if you are after a quick and tasty fish-and-chips fix. . There has never been a better time to be out in north western Sydney. For those of us who live in the region, we already have a good selection of restaurants and cafes that have sprung up over the past few years. To add to the list now, we have Cod’s Gift, a restaurant and bar in Dural. Sustainable seafood, cocktails, and they’re all set for fish and chips to take-away soon too!
