Really cool décor, good drinks selection and staff friendly hence the 2 stars . Let down by tiny portions for the price you pay. Hand cut chips a few pound for the smallest little basket(must have been around 6 chips in total), they were very undercooked and literally dripping in oil. The main dishes were very small as well paying £7/£8 .

Nice and relaxing atmosphere the music was a little out of place. Food had good quality of an accepted sized portion. The sides were small for their price. Coffee was tasty and their cake were fresh and well made. Big variety for vegan and vegetarian.

I was tempted to put 3 stars however I do think that with the right coffee training this place can shine. However if you sell “grilled” haloumi sandwich please don’t serve it toasted and by toasted I mean not so tasty haloumi. My salad didn’t come with the dressing either. The people working were very nice, the atmosphere was very cozy and the music was great.

Wonderful brunch at the newly renovated, Simpson’s (formerly Tea and Cake). Loads of choice of Scottish treats on the menu - we had hash skillet, Dundee stack and the eggs royale, the best food we’ve had on our trip to Scotland! Not to mention the super friendly service too. Can’t think of a better way to spend a rainy morning in Dundee.

A nice wee find when visiting V&A. Coffee was very good and sweet potato, kale and ginger soup was smashing. The one draw back was the lack of choice over the bread - there was just white on offer - I asked for wholemeal but was told it was "a pain in the arse" to prove, which is fair enough for busy folk, I guess, but for such a super-duper-healthy-trendy place could they not just buy some in, especially as there was a sign on the wall saying dietary requirements were catered for?

Lovely place we had the best brunch of our ten day holiday in Scotland. A genuine family run cafe with fresh produce and a warm welcome.

I had the avocado toast (the bread is really good) and the soup of the day (tomato and vegetables) both were delicious. Lovely staff. Next time, I'll taste the cakes which look really good too. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming, all in all feels good being and eating here.

A nice little cafe with a great selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolates. They have a menu that offers up a good portion of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well as cakes. Worth a swing in to have a nice cuppa :)
