Cracker Barrel

Downingtown, Pa location - Dark, greasy & slow service. The dining room is very dark and dusty. The eggs were literally laying in a puddle of grease. The food was not good. I asked for crispy bacon but it was not cooked crisp. The server was slow at bringing our requests and seemed like we were bothering her. The rest room was dirty and disgusting. I will never dine at this restaurant again!

Great food and courteous service. Only complaint (or concern) is that the men's room wasn't tidy and needing cleaning when we ate there for brunch. Ow I would give this excellent down home cooking style restaurant 5 stars. Fell short on the restroom cleanliness. (Additionally, C.B. needs to move into contactless restroom facilities at this location.) Don't forget to visit the county store for great items or gifts too.

Will never go back!!! Negative 5 star rating. First off, our Mother wanted to come here for her 83rd Birthday. So, when we arrived, we were seated right away and told by the hostess the waitress would be right with us to get our drink order. After looking at the menu and discussing my Nieces graduation, 20 min to a half hour had gone by when we were first seated and we had noticed other people whom came in after us were being taken care of with drinks and their orders. After my sister had complained to the hostess, another waitress came over to take our drink orders and our waitress will be right on over. Okay, fine, our drinks came and the manager apologized as well as bringing out biscuits and muffins for the table. The waitress finally came over, apologized and took our orders. The appetizers came, no problem, then a few minutes later we were served our meals . I had ordered the Cracker Barrel Sampler … chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and ham. The chicken and dumplings were served in a big bowl with maybe 3 small quarter (coin) sized pieces of chicken and the dumplings were dough slices that looked like they were to go on apple dumplings which was very bland and very mushy , doughy and had not eaten that except for the chicken. The meatloaf was burnt and tasted like a loaf of Bread crumbs with sprinkled meat throughout , and the ham was very tough to cut and very chewy. Needless to say I did not eat it except only a bite of meatloaf and ham. I told the waitress about it , not being her fault , she apologized and so we paid our bill as well as leaving a more than enough tip for the waitress just because it was the right thing to do. I will not go back to this restaurant and should have left when I had wanted to.

Great food. Honestly, my favorite breakfast franchise place. They are consistent and the people that work at this location are simply amazing. The servers remember you and if you want they talk to you. The pancakes so good with the slightly crunchy edges, the hash brown casseroles simply amazing... Overall breakfast is the best in my opinion. Also, the price didn't break the bank for 4 of us. Definitely recommend this Cracker Barrel.

Our waitress Sue was very helpful, caring. I have 6 week old son who got hungry while my husband and I were eating. My husband ate first so I could feed my son and than I ate. While I was eating Sue got whatever I needed. She even bagged up all my help over food into to go containers. So I could enjoy my meal. The staff here is so helpful and polite.
