Table 42

My husband and I had a delicious meal last night. He is the pickiest eater and has a real limited palette. His favorite meal is Chicken Marsala which this restaurant does real well. I had the panzanella salad and small plate eggplant rollatini. I ate every bite of each. A very nice touch was the complimentary soft warm breadsticks and marinated salad. We will definitely be back and share our good experience with friends and family. Also, adding the service was excellent!

Met friends halfway between our homes and they recommended Table 42. Table 42 had a band and I usually avoid places with bands but this was a few guys with bongo drums, percussion and singing. I didn't recognize any of the songs but the music they played was very, very nice. Seating outside. A very long wide bar as you walk in which was bustling with people, food and laughter. It felt like a local place and I'm certain this is on many people's list of 'our Italian restaurant'. My guests, who know the place told me a brief story of the owner, I did not pick up all the details but something about hating his job so he opened a restaurant. A great story we all aspire to. Next door they seem to have an adjoining establishment that is a pizzeria and I could see you can walk through the restaurant to the pizzeria but maybe they are set up a bit differently. Checking the 'one bite's app (everyone knows the rules) Table 42 gets a 7.8 for their cheese pie from the community - this is a good score people and is consistent with my dining experience at the restaurant. I won't call Table 42 a fancy place, walking in I had a similar experience to walking into Arturo's on Hudson Street NYC or one of the many restaurants in the iron bound section of Newark. Not a lot of time to impress, all time spent on service and food. Table 42 two is located in an area that has a touch of urban to it with multicultural residents, visitors and your typical garden State variety of patrons. Food was very good, I had chicken piccata and it was very nice, I really enjoyed it. They also served a small plate of picked veggies in oil which were also very nice. In addition to the veggie plate they served this small longish rolls, I didn't try but everyone seemed to enjoy them. My guests dishes looked good also and I almost wanted to reach over and taste a bit but you know, meeting new people that can be uncool. I would enjoy going back to table two for my two drinks per week or when I am seeking a solid Italian meal with a lively neighborhood vibe that can lift you up along with the food. All in all a nice spot and they seem to try hard to 'make a nice'! Sorry no pictures on this one, nothing fancy tho.

Absolutely wonderful waitress Kerri and so the appetizers, dinner and deserts! Fried Oysters were wonderful, even the bread was amazing and came along with a dish of pickled virgin olive oil veggies. The Rigitoni w Sausage n cream sauce was delicious!! If you haven’t tried this place, you are definitely wasting your appetite and money somewhere else! ENJOY!!
