Skip's

A group of us went to Skip's for dinner on a Saturday. We got there about 6pm and only had to wait about 20min to be seated. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very dark and intimate. Once it filled up we did find it hard to hear each other at the dinner table . We were seated in the back by a window. The table wasn't very conducive to our party size but we made it work. The waitress was very attentive and knew her stuff she was just a little rough around the edges. We ordered a plate of onion rings to get us started and they were a huge success! The plate they brought out was heaping and it had no problem feeding our group of 8 and there were some leftover. We all ordered our entrees and most of us got the salad as our side. Glad we did, the parmesan dressing is out of this world, one of the best salads I've had in a long time, not a lot of frills but what they do they do right. I am including all the pictures from our entrees. Most everything was good except for the jalapeno pasta. They have been making that for over 30 years but when we were there it really didn't have any flavor. I bet it's because jalapenos aren't in season. Overall I would say if you haven't been here go give it a try. We are going back again, this time we will wait until jalapenos are in season. 😉

Liked it so much we went back the next day. Visiting from WA state and the had a really good experience. The restaurant is in an old house and is roomier than it looks and quite pleasant inside. The staff is amazing - really friendly and welcoming in a genuine way. I had a grilled salmon Caesar and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The next day we stopped on the way to the airport because we knew they serve quickly and it would keep us on schedule. Not disappointed great service and good food again.

Absolutely phenomenal service and food. Julie provides fantastic service, she is so welcoming and friendly. She thrives when she busy making you never feel forgotten. We typically get their nachos which are too die for!! But last night we tried spinach and artichoke dip and shared their loaded baked potato soup. The soup was excellent!! For entrees we decided on Carbonara without mushrooms and Fettuccine Alfredo which come with salads. Their house salad dressing is honey mustard which one of my absolute favorites! The fettuccine was a little off and quite buttery but highly recommend the Carbonara! The chicken was fantastic!!
