Southside Bar & Kitchen

The food is good and not too expensive. The drinks are reasonably priced. They have a pretty varied beer selection. This is not a place I go to often but it is a pretty good bar with adequate everything. Not a five star establishment but they don't do anything poorly. You won't likely have an exceptional customer experience but you also shouldn't be dissatisfied with any aspect of your visit.

My wife and I are locals of the Bluebird District/East Colfax neighborhood, and this is by far our favorite neighborhood bar. We walk there pretty often. Super down-to-earth, laid-back bar with no bells and whistles, and quality where it counts. Simple brick building with nice patio out front. Rotating craft beer taps and craft cans/bottles reasonably priced, and cheap domestics as well. Almost any kind of person would feel comfortable here, except those who prefer upscale places. Menu is full of solid pub grub; the food is made consistently well and there are even vegetarian options. Seems like there are food specials every day; the specials are always cheap and SO good. Excellent fish tacos and wings, and I highly recommend the taco tots! Usually pretty quiet (except Fri/Sat nights of course), so during the week it's never overcrowded or obnoxiously loud. It's a relaxing place to be. They are always playing sports and often have events or specials centered around an important game or match. They have a single pool table where you can play for $1 in quarters, and unless they're busy it's usually not being used. Bartenders are watchful and polite. Dogs are a common sight! As others have said many times in these reviews, Southside is what it is: a down-to-earth neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy, nothing game-changing, just a reliable, chill, feel-good place.

Could be one of my favorite bars ever. One of the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had with a great ambiance to watch the game and with the opportunity to mingle in an amazing local bar. And not to mention there’s a house hidden tiki bar upstairs and there are numerous music venues in walking distance. Would recommend to anyone, would take my dad or a girlfriend here. This place will stay all through the revitalization of colfax!!
