East Side

One of the best bars in Denton. You can tell by how absolutely packed it is on a Friday or Saturday night. Yet they usually have more than enough bartenders to keep the lines moving when ordering drinks. Huge draft beer selection with your usual shots and cocktails as well. East Side has a TON of outdoor seating that is dog friendly. The outdoor seating is also surrounded by some amazing food truck options. Great place to come and try something new and enjoy a cool evening.

I have no idea how I haven't left East Side a review already... This is one of the best bars in the Metroplex. The staff is amazing, the insane selection of beer and spirits is really impressive, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed during the day and ramps up at night. They've always got food trucks outside, and expect to see 5 or more on the weekends. Their location is also great, just one block off the Denton square and a short walking distance (or literally next-door) to other bars and restaurants. There's also plenty of free parking across the street or just up the road if that lot is full. I can't speak highly enough of this place, the staff, and the owners. They're all great people who make everyone from all walks of life feel truly welcomed. I don't know a single person who has had a negative experience here. If you haven't already, check this place out!!

STAY AWAY! Go to the place next door, ran by the same person and a lot better atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy, or anyone of color. This establishment could be a lot better if the bartenders actually had decent customer service. I’m speaking on one individual in particular (usually wears the same looking hat, with a mustache. I wish I had a picture because I’m speaking specifically on this one individual) if you went there you’d know who I’m talking about. He blatantly disrespected me in front of my co-workers, I work for the county, and we went out to have a few drinks after a long week. I’m unsure if it was because he was trying to look cool, in front of his friends or what but he was super aggressive and standoffish. This is unacceptable behavior and I plan on contacting the manager to have a conversation about the disrespect I endured. Once again, I’m not make it about anything other than this one individual I can’t speak on others because it was only my second time there. God bless and let’s do better!

This is our go-to bar when in Denton. They have a very wide variety of beers on tap. Despite the long menu, each beer is described nicely to help you pick the perfect one for you. The atmosphere is chill and laid back, the patio is huge (and has heaters in cold weather), and the food trucks are a bonus.
