Tex Tapas

Went in for lunch, and found the place to be only moderately busy, with room to sit inside or outside. I guess my timing was good, because by the time I was placing my order, several tables were clearing out. The waitress had already been attentive, but was now freed up to be very helpful in selecting an entree from the unique menu. I chose the crispy pork chop, which was served on a crispy waffle ...and absolutely DELICIOUS! The staff was friendly and the food excellent, the menu was an adventure, with choices that put a new spin on old time favorites. The small plate items didn't look "skimpy", and the big plate items were easily shareable portions. I will definitely go again! Next time, I'll take a friend with me!

I stumbled into culinary joy here. The special for the day was honey sriracha chicken and waffles topped with bacon and served with a side of maple syrup with diced apples. Frankly, I used the syrup as a dipping sauce. The chicken was tender with a deep fried batter infused with sriracha. The waffles were a perfect match. Add quick and efficient seating and service, the whole experience was completely enjoyable for an after church treat. I'll be back.

Keep coming here as we walk the Denton Square. Great food, waiters, and beverages. We went in for a lite meal, had the bacon jam and biscuits, as usual, but also had an off-the-menu item...the Amarillo ...it is a big tortilla, wrapped, then cut like sushi that has chicken fried steak, tots, pico, cheese, and some other stuff. Dang good and glad to get the advice. Also got the White Sangria...refreshing for sure.

TL;DR: great atmosphere, great food, great drinks. It is a great restaurant for gatherings and a good Saturday gateway if you are visiting the Square in Denton. You might miss the restaurant but when you find it you will enjoy the atmosphere it offers. Music is loud enough to enjoy and have a conversation with whoever is with you. Great place if you go by yourself too. Great selection of licor and beers. Cocktails are actually pretty good. Food is really amazing, specially their signature Ghost burger. Top burgers in town in my opinion. Great spot for a quick bite, grabbing a drink and enjoying the game on the screen.
