Bellini's

First time and Last I have eaten there since the new owners bought the place. I explained that I worked for the old owners before ordering saying how much I missed the food. She made a point in stating that none of the recipes are the originals. Which is fine how bad can a turkey sub be? Well on a scale of 1 thru 10 it was a negative 2. It took a full 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged. I have worked in the service industry my entire life and know that servers get busy during lunch but they didn't have any tables. The women who took my order couldn't wait to bad mouth the previous owners and their quality of food. She told me that it's all about quality over quantity. Said everything was cooked in house. Which I could tell from the minimal shavings of Turkey that was on my sub that it was. I asked for no onions and sub Swiss for provolone cheese. As I was watching my sub being made I noticed provolone cheese and onions were put on it. Instead of making a new sub that did not taste like onions she just picked them off and switched the cheese. The lettuce had brown spots and the thinnest slice of tomatoes I have ever seen. I asked for mustard which I did not get. I had to come home fix my sub the way I liked it and had to put Turkey on it since I barely got any of the QUALITY meat. They purchased a gold mine. That never needed any advertising. You know the saying " If it ain't broke then don't try to fix it" Well these people broke a perfect establishment and word of mouth speaks volumes in small towns. I'm so disappointed.

I hate to give anyone a bad review. Especially after the friendly service the waitress provided. However, the best thing I ate today was the house salad which was delicious accompanied by a spiced ranch dressing. Cool, crisp and refreshing. The main course was disappointing. The chef has a great deal of confidence and I hope he can take the criticism necessary to improve his product. Enough with the inflated boasts of "....the best lasagna you've ever had in your life!" (No, that was the lasagna made by a first generation American who's lasagna utilized beef liver, heart and Mama's recipe to make taste buds sing for joy.) I asked the chef if he'd made Italian or American lasagna. He claimed Italian, but I was unsurprised to find an interesting versiin of American lasagna when I opened the box. Yes, my meal took long enough to be prepared that it came in a To Go container well after I'd finished a complimentary meal of meatballs and spaghetti...(For goodness sake, season the meatballs!). I offered the lasagna to a hungry friend after we met up, but he didn't want to finish it. The deli offerings looked tempting and the olives looked inviting. People, I love lasagna, meatballs and all things Italian...in short, Try the sandwiches if you stop in here.

I've been coming to Bellini's since the early eighties and it's been one of my special places. A few years back new ownership too over and it was a hard change for me. At first it wasn't too bad but as they kept changing things, the harder I found it. It's been a good eighteen months and I thought I'd try it again, come in with an open mind. And I'm glad I did. I had an excellent experience, the food was great, prices are still excellent and the staff was superb. While it'll never match the important place in my memories and heart that it did, it seems to be a great place to go to again and I'll be back.

Best meatball and mozzarella sub I’ve ever put in my mouth! The meatballs are obviously homemade with the perfect amount of herbs and spices! When I pulled my sandwich halves apart, the cheese was stretchy and there was plenty of it. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but I was starving and have a 30 minute break. Going back for Stromboli this weekend!

I like the welcome feel the moment you arrive. You can tell they want to provide an excellent Italian meal. Very accommodating & our waiter brought us the jalapeno poppers complimentary, because we'd never tried them before. I liked the original Bellini's very well, but I have to say we had a great meal just now. Great sicilian pizza.

It was so good! Will definitely be back. All the guys were super nice and the food was great and really filling. The dinners come with a nice bread and a salad and the prices are pretty good. Worth every penny. They were steady when I came in and stayed pretty busy the whole time, and this is the end of summer.
