Applebee's

When I visited this Applebee's a few months ago with my girlfriend, our food was almost certainly microwaved and was unsatisfactory in its internal warmth distribution. When my dad and I visited here, we were taken to a table with a sticky top. Our greeter told us that that was because the sanitizer they use on the tables degrades the top coating. We rejected that table and another one for the same reason. We finally left without accepting a table. We did not expect that a restaurant at which I had experienced poor food serving quality in the past and had just rejected multiple tables for surface quality would be able to provide a satisfactory experience. We had a very good meal at Potbelly's. I certainly do not intend to return to this Applebee's. In addition, when I attempted to submit this review on the website of Applebee's, it wouldn't let me, due to some error. The error may well have been legitimate, but it only soured my impression of the restaurant.

Usually going to a chain, you expect to get food that is "repeatable" and the same from one Applebee's to another. The food during our visit was tolerable however, the service was abysmal. We waited at least 15 minutesfor the server to even notice we were there. The entire restaurant had 11 tables being served (and 3 servers to cover the floor) and our server managed to forget to put in our appetizer order. She seemed lost when we mentioned it as our entrées were handed to us. After dropping off our food, we didn't see her again for another 25 minutes. The table behind us had problems with their food and sent it back more than once and another table sat near us got up and left as we were leaving because they had been ignored for more than 10 minutes after being seated. I have had better service at restaurants that were packed and can't understand how an empty one could have such poor service. Abysmal
