Lovely pub in Danbury. Beautifully decorated and has a wonder feel about it.
Food was really good and reasonably priced.
As per my photo, good selection on offer on draft.
Well worth a visit, if in the area.
I will definitely visit again in the future.

Nice welcome from front of house for a booked meal. Well kept pint of Ghost ship beforehand. Service overall was spot on and food was served by communicative and charming staff. Food was excellent, having fillet of salmon with Tuscan sauce, new potatoes and peas. Banoffee pie for dessert was very tasty. Very enjoyable evening, will definitely visit again, and recommend. 👍

Having lived in maldon for nearly 8 years I swear to visit this lovely looking pub atleast once a week, well today was the day, I was unsure how our slight del boy accents and non country attire would fair but I have to say this place is CUSHTY, food was absolutely bang on, atmosphere was lovely as was the staff, and the flowers, well bonnet de douche.
Couple of reviews mention pricing, I must say I thought it was dead reasonable. Proper food cheaper than a brief case without a code, in 2023 I'm a pleased man.
I'll be back, possibly tomorrow

Beautiful looking pub in the countryside. Had a date night and was delighted by the fish. We had whitebait and salmon to start followed by delicate Plaice and flavourful haddock with the most crispy batter. Great for summer outdoor eating with all the fairy lights and kids playground. 9/10

Great dining experience, food could have been a little better mind in terms of portions. Service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was very pleasant, as always.

We stopped at The Anchor after spending the afternoon on the River Chelmer near Paper Mill Lock. We had the Breaded Brie, Potato Wedges, Haddock with chips, Sea Bass, cheesecake and a cheese platter and I have to say it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were wonderful and very helpful and the pub was busy, but not overly so. Dogs are very welcome here as well. We will be going back there again.

One of the nicest pub lunches I've ever had. Food was amazing, big portions as well. Staff were fantastic, perfect for a sunny day as the outside seating has so much space

Lovely place and really good food. Team is amazing and very customer focused and courteous.
We went there as a family and enjoyed a fulsome lunch. I topped it with some dessert.
There is indoor and outdoor seating when weather is good.

Great food and service. Sat out front with dog in large area with view to green and tiny village. Good base for walking routes. Be back for sure!
