Riviera

We were kayaking in crystal river and after kayak we decided to have dinner at Riviera Mexican Cantina Restaurant. The restaurant was half empty and we got seated quickly. We were greeted by our server Richey and he asked us for drinks. We ordered water for drinks. With water he bought Chips and Salsa. Chips was good but Salsa was not up to the mark. Something was missing from the salsa as it can be prepared much better. With Chips and salsa we also ordered Guacamole. For dinner we started with Street Corn, Flatbread Chicken, Burrito Supreme Chicken and for desert we ordered Fried Ice Cream. The service is very slow and we had to wait for 20-25 minutes to get our order. The best was The Street corn. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. The flatbreads were also amazing. We loved the crust of it as well as the toppings. The Fried Ice cream was also good.

Terrible pricing. Food was good but not worth the cost by any measure. As I say the food was good but not exceptional definitely sad to see it so costly. My daughter likes the place but even she said it was crazy prices. We ordered two steak taco salads and water and it was $36+. I know things have gone up but I eat this meal regularly at many restaurants of equal or BETTER quality and have never seen it this high. Either way long waits with only one other sit in customer and one to go order.

I feel bad giving a negative review because I try to always help people. When we walked in the floors were sticky. The place had an odd smell I don’t know how to describe. The waitress was a cranky old lady. There is no music or TV. There were only 2 other customers and the place felt dead. No Mexican workers in a Mexican restaurant. Burrito came out oddly fast and I assume it was frozen based off the size and shape. The lady over charged us so we had to speak with the waitress who became annoyed and acted as if we were causing a problem. Left ASAP and went to Taco Bell to upgrade our meal and wash the taste out of our mouth!

Dara is an amazing cook. Never have any problems with my food and it's always made correctly and the plate presentation is always amazing. Food always looks amazing. Hailee is a beautiful sweet lady and she is always smiling and doing everything she can to make sure her customers are happy and she always has a smile on her face.
