We've passed by this cozy looking BYOB spot a few times and finally decided to give it a try this week for dinner, bringing a bottle of wine. The interior is small, but feels intimate. All tables were full when we arrived so we stood at the door waiting - we weren't really acknowledged by the staff until a table was open, so not the friendliest welcome. The menu is a mix of pub-like sandwiches/pizzas and bigger entrees. The prices for entrees seem to be on the high side (eg. $22 for fish and chips). Staff was pretty slow and a bit inattentive. We ended up ordering mussels for appetizer, fish and chips, and spaghetti w/ clams. A general comment on the food was that everything was slightly under-seasoned. However, the batter for fish and chips was light and crisp. In the end, it was hard to justify the $70 meal (after tax) when we brought our own booze.

Great little (Cozy) cafe in a little neighbor setting. It's only open 5-9 pm, and seating is very limited (beware). It's BYOB which really helps to cut down costs on any meal you have eating out. The food is just so good, really great ingredients, made to perfection. What a gem this little place is. I love it.

Nice local place with decent food. It's small and BYOB so if it's crowded the wait could be a pain. The service is good but I was looking for more out of the food. It was average as you can get the same quality food just about anywhere. We often seek out restaurants that have been on DD&D which this is one and have been underwhelmed more often than not.

The seafood was amazing. Was recommended this place from a friend. Totally pumped top go there again. We had seafood only. Muscles, calamari, and lobster ravioli and I wanted to get another of each. Portions are perfect for the price and it is BYOB! Even better!

Excellent neighborhood restaurant. High quality food, friendly staff, cozy interior. Seating limited. You bring your own drink. If you are in the neighborhood, a must visit. I had the burger and the ginger cupcake. Both were delicious.

Terrific local spot. Great regular menu but you have to check out the specials board. Plus it's BYOB. It's a bit pricier than neighborhood places, but they're sourcing the highest quality ingredients and making it fresh. The owner/chef is a JWU alumni, and super friendly. There's usually one waitress, and she's awesome. But if it's slammed, that's too much for one.

Amazing food. My wife got the fish and chips. "Best fish and chips I've ever had," she says. I tried a bite as well. Crunchy, flavorful batter...moist fish...awesome tartar sauce. I tried some fried oysters and spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. Again...amazing. The oysters were right out of the frier. Crunchy. Oysters had a great flavor and texture. The Bolognese sauce was so delicious. Perfect portions. Great price. Will be going there again for sure.

I was not overly impressed with this restaurant. After reading all the great reviews, we were excited to try the food. A number of people recommended the specials on any given day, so we selected a couple meals from the chalkboard list. We ordered the brie to start, the clam pasta special and the chipotle dijon crusted pork special. We also ordered mud pie for dessert, but they were out of it this evening. The brie was pretty uninspiring. Something easily created at home. A wedge of cheese accompanied by an apricot spread, apple slices, grapes, and crustini slices. It tasted fine, but was looking for an added touch from the kitchen I guess. My wife ate the clam special. It was adequately prepared, but lacked real flavor. I had the pork. I enjoyed the flavor of the chipotle Dijon crust, but the pork itself was over cooked, dry and a bit tough to chew. The accompanying roasted potatoes were pretty bland, but edible. I enjoyed the veggies served with the dish. Unfortunately, neither of the servers checked in with us while we were eating. They were otherwise attentive and friendly and quick to refill drinks. We may try this spot again and go with pizza, wings, or a burger next time, but I’m not sure Edgewood Cafe would be our first choice when seeking those menu options.
