Wing Lock

This restaurant was very busy meaning service was quite slow and it was hard to get the attention of waiters which was understandable but still slightly disappointing. Decorations were needed to make the restaurant more pleasing to the eye. The honey chicken was to die for! Unfortunately the spring rolls were cold and and beef was soft and tender, however lacked flavour. Homemade dim sims were very nice but as previously mentioned were cold and seemed as though they hadn’t defrosted. Dessert was disappointing as the fried ice-cream had an unpleasant batter on the outside compared to the usual biscuit crumb.

We love Wing Lock Chinese Restaurant. Since discovering them, we eat their food regularly. Mostly we have it delivered and it is fantastic. Mum loves the chicken and vegetables and always follows it up with a banana fritter and ice cream. Me - I am working my way through the menu. Sensational!!!

BEWARE!!!!!! I'd give zero but can't. Have you ever ordered Chinese takeaway for it to be frozen?!? half defrosted honey chicken?????? Because we have!!!!!!!!! When they heated it up in the microwave they forgot to check that it wasn't still half frozen. So DISGUSTING you could break it in half. The freezer ice water residue from microwave dripping from container. The other dishes were revolting aswell. We were scared to eat them and had to throw away $75 worth of takeaway. This restaurant shouldn't be allowed to operate.

A great mix of the standard Australianised Chinese food and the subtle tastes of authentic Cantonese cuisine all without a flavour overload. Wing lock is my favourite Chinese restaurant by far on the Island. I used to dine as a tourist and now as a local too. I've tried lots of dishes from the menu over the years and have built up a list of my favourites that suit me fine. Rainbow beef, honey chicken, vegetarian spring rolls, combination omelette, tofu and vegetables, and chicken and cashew nuts are some that I would recommend. They always come across a family friendly. I find they give prompt service and they have a good selection of beers and wine. What prompted me to review the restaurant now are the new decoration. It has really turned out well - the traditional wall paintings are much better than the old wall paper for sure. :-P
