Habaneros

I went here on a Thursday evening with my partner after we had gone to a couple of other places that were far too busy. Initially the hostess said the wait would only be 15 minutes, and to be honest I did not count but it did seem longer. However, once a table was available we were quickly seated. The staff seemed to be working very hard that night and we’re very tentative without being overbearing. Our drinks were brought to us very quickly and our order was taken very soon after being seated. I was very pleased with the vibrant atmosphere, which I had not expected. This restaurant is not like other typical Mexican restaurants in south Louisiana. The atmosphere is much younger and more upbeat than most.Our meals arrived in an impressively short amount of time considering the amount of customers that were there. I had the Racheras and he had three tacos, all of which was incredible. I will say, if you enjoy very large portions you will likely be disappointed. I and my partner personally found the portions to be perfect in size, but they are not the large portions to which Americans are accustomed. The service was friendly and engaging without being too much, and we were glad we had decided to eat here. We left feeling full but not bloated and heavy like a lot of restaurant food can make you feel. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating here again soon!

Habanero’s is a MUST go to establishment! The food comes out quick, it’s delicious, and there is a variety to choose from. Oscar is so personable and pays attention to every detail. It’s obvious he takes pride in creating an enjoyable experience for everyone. My son always enjoys seeing him. The attention to service the entire staff gives makes for an enjoyable, relaxing experience. The atmosphere feels like you’re going to a family member’s house to eat. Habaneros on hwy 22 was absolutely great and they had just been opened for a few days and even with how busy they were the food and service was great now about habaneros on hwy 21 that has been opened longer service absolutely sucked food was good but because of the service and them not even being busy I will never go back to this one it's hwy 22 for me

We stopped here for lunch after a day of birding. It's in a small strip of restaurants right off the road. Decor was really nice, including the bathrooms! Food was super fresh and we ordered off the lunch menu specials starting at $7.95 on the back page. I'm not sure why we weren't expecting it to be as fresh as it was but the Salad was amazing with black beans and avocado, Tortilla soup was a must have, and the mushroom spinach enchiladas were fantastic. Lots of healthier and also plant based options. Just beware, most of the dressings and sauces were very spicy. We enjoyed it but mention to the server if you need something milder.
