El Encanto

My husband and I checked out this place on a whim while searching for someplace new to discover. El Encanto is a goldmine of delicious modern Mexican cuisine. The salsa that was served with the chips was excellent (although to my own preference, could have used a bit more heat). I ordered the Taco Platter with one of each type of protein and loved all of them. I mean, tacos are always a great choice at any Mexican restaurant but these were so light and fresh. It was topped with a mountain of freshly cut pico de gallo and guac, and came with another entire bowl of the stuff for extra toppings (great to dip chips in as well). My husband ordered taquitos and I can confidently say they were the best taquitos I’ve ever tasted. Most of the time taquitos get swept under the rug, or are mainly something people only eat when it comes frozen out of a freezer box. Not these lil’ beauties. We also ordered the carnitas fries as an appetizer which were also amazing! But word of the wise, it’s a very large portion (aka a MOUNTAIN of meat, potatoes and toppings) and is best shared between a group of people. Overall I was really excited to find a new great restaurant to visit on the outskirts of Corona. We’ll be coming back soon!

I was so excited for them to open up! We finally got a date night and went there. The art and decor was fantastic and the server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions as to recommendations for dishes (but really hard to hear in a lightly crowded room). I had a sandwich, I could tell there were lots of ingredients and it sounded delicious but there was absolutely no flavor at all. My husband got enchiladas and he enjoyed the flavor, mentioned the sauces (he got half red and half green) were really good. But he also asked for half of the enchilada order to be chicken and the other 2 to be beef and he received 4 chicken, so the order did get messed up. Someone cleaned a table near us with cleanser that was so strong too. Usually restaurants don't use cleansers with such caustic odors while people are eating, it was a bit surprising. I was really disappointed in my dish, and at the prices they are charging, I expected more flavor and even more exotic options on the menu, even in one of the more simple dishes. I wouldn't risk another bland meal at that price so we unfortunately won't be returning.
