Huey's Cordova

Went to Huey's for my 50th birthday dinner and it was amazing! After a long day kayaking on the Ghost River I had worked up quite an appetite! They serve my favorite local beer, Grindhouse by Ghost River Brewing. Appetizer was cheese fries (which I literally could not stop eating) followed by the Bluff City Burger. I was full and happy by the time left! The service was great at usual!

The two items that make Huey’s the great place it still is. An awesome hamburger and a recipe for onion rings unlike anywhere else. Nothing ever beats a cooked to perfection burger made with quality beef and those onion rings so big and fat. Just look at the pics of the rings, you could wear those things as a bracelet. Lauren ( one of the owners) stopped by to chat with us and the service by Julie was outstanding. Good thing I don’t live close to here or I’d be eating here all the time.

Had the Sunshine Burger with Steak Fries for lunch and honestly was slightly disappointed but not entirely. Meat was a little pink for a Medium Well but manageable. Egg were cooked perfect and the fries were awesome. Great environment. Looks like the place has a lot of history, and probably is a really soical spot on the weekends. Tables were tacky with whatever fluid and the menus are filthy. Didn't even check out the bathroom. First time being at one of these but will most likely visit another location sometime.

I always enjoy going to this Huey’s. The staff and bartenders are always friendly with her I am dining in or getting a to go plate. It’s located in a very nice part of town and the restaurant is always clean. I’m sorry I didn’t have a better picture but I ate my burger before I could take the picture before because it was so good!

Chelsea had an attitude when I called about an incorrect order. I don't know why but they have a lot of trouble with the cheese fries so I should have known to check. I paid for bacon, extra ranch, ketchup, sour cream, extra scallions. What I got was cheese and scallions. None of the bonuses I paid for. No condiments. And then Chelsea acted like I was trying to pull off the crime of the century wanting a refund on the fries instead of driving 20+ minutes up there and back while everyone else ate lunch.

We went here because it was close to where we were staying. The food was pretty good! I had the blue cheese burger with onion rings. The onion rings were MASSIVE. I will say that they were kind of chewy, maybe overcooked, and a little lukewarm when they arrived. The burger was the best part, it was right-sized, we’ll appointed, and delicious! It also wasn’t messy to eat, unlike most of the bigger-than-your-mouth pub-style burgers you come across. I was able to bite it without it falling apart into a drippy, soggy mess. Nicely executed, Hueys! The only negatives were that the restaurant needs a deep clean and a furniture refresh, and the service was just “OK”. Otherwise, pretty good family dinner place for the money.

It was a very good experience. The service was very kind and the food was good. The fried pickles were perfectly crisp. The burger was perfectly cooked because most of the time when I order medium somewhere they still cook it medium well. The steak kabobs were tender and juicy, without being chewy. And the tater tots were...tater tots. I do like the way they do their onion rings too. But tonight the service gives this place a 5 star with the good food.
