Steak 'n Shake

"Girls Brunch" with the little one. It was our first time here. The food was super fresh!!!!! OMG that melted cheese!! Lol The kiosk was a new thing for me. I'm thankful to the SM who was nice and patient. He was moving non stop making sure the store stayed clean. And the store is VERY clean by the way. We were very pleased with our visit and will be back to THIS one.

I went to this Steak n Shake for the first time since they made renovations and it’s like an entirely different restaurant. We were kindly greeted upon entry and saw that they have new kiosks to order and pay at. You can easily customize your orders and can sit and wait for your food, although you won’t be waiting long. The food came out hot and fresh, right next to the drink station. Although I do miss the diner feel of being served (no more waiters and waitresses because of the kiosks) my wife and I were in and out in a matter of 30 minutes on a Friday evening. The staff is pleasant, especially the host (a young man with glasses) and we will be returning for quick and easy comfort food.

I asked a simple question on what temperatures are the burgers cooked, I told them I usually like mine well. I was cut off by another person than the original person taking my order. The guy said we cook it to Steak and Shake standards. I ask what's that and he fails to explain. He never told me the temperature. But instead told me they're cooked how all the burger places cook them. Huh? So what are the standards, because he, whom happened to be the manager "Scott" who was on evening shift on 6/30/22, didn't answer my question and told me didn't understand what the problem was. Well...., the issue is for the smart guy, had I known what the "Steak n Shake" standards of cooking were, I wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. Strange individual and strange way of handling customers. Blessings to you though. Be easy.

The wait was nonexistent on a late Saturday afternoon. The ordering system changed to you order from a kiosk and pay which is refreshing as it streamlines the ordering and paying. There is a lot less congestion in the front compared to the previous payment method. You now take your receipt with the order number at the top and your order number will be called and you pick up your food at the counter. Great job to rethink the ordering, payment processing, and order pickup. .

I’m only in town for business and I tried Steak ‘n Shake for the 1st time. That Royale burger is awesome and the oreo shake, but the drive thru speed sucks in the evenings. I came earlier today during the day time and whoever the guy was taking orders during the day time was getting cars out crazy fast and I like that. Then I come again during the evening to try the garlic burger and the night time is extremely slow on getting cars out. I don’t like being in line for 10 minutes
