A small but cozy restaurant but is a little gem in the "burbs" of South Perth. Food here is generally very good and of good quality. Everytime I've been here (3-4 times), the service has been attentive and the ambiance pleasant. Overall I like this place!

Comfortable seats and good food. Fish and chips, tasting platter, big brekky and chicken salad are the ones I've tried more than once. Nice choice of dessert too. Good coffee and chai latte. The only drawback was they don't serve big breakfast after 1130AM. So be early!

Average food, overpriced. Everything we ordered was small and hardly worth the money paid. Salt and pepper squid was chewy and overcooked. Too much dressing on the plate, and all of it was sitting UNDER the salad, so the last couple of bites were intensely unpleasant. <br/>Beetroot, spinach and goat's cheese salad was miserly was $20! And what we got was sliced beetroot out of a can. No care or attention given to quality of food. <br/>The service was exceptionally attentive, so it was sad to see that the food let the place down so much.

Pretty good, usually consistent, enjoy their 'hashbrowns' which are similar (but smaller) to a coxhina in shape but filled with nice potato/herby goodness. Eggs benedict here is quite standard if not above your usual Perth breakfast.

Went for breakfast and first thing I noticed was that this place looks really dated- like something from the 80's. Lady who served me (think it was the manager/owner) kept coming back and asking us if we wanted coffees/anything else. Menu is average. Worst part was coffee. Absolutely scolding hot! WTH. Won't be back. <br/>

Quite an average breakfast menu, all the regular repeat offender dishes and nothing really jumped out at me when we visited. 🍴 Ordered my go-to in situations like this - the Eggs Hollandaise with Salmon. It was nice, but the eggs were a little overcooked and the hollandaise was too vinegary for my liking. ☕️ Coffee was decent, but not mind blowing. 🏚 Interiors are a little out of date but classic. I like the wine racks mounted on the wall. For a suburb like South Perth I expected a little more. 😲 I would come back to try the dinner menu though, looks more exciting than breakfast.

Nice neighbourhood restaurant, warm and friendly service. Menu is quite varied and offers something for everyone. We went for dinner and had the pork and beef mains. Both were well sized and satisfactory. We shared a dessert of panna cotta which was really nice. Great place for a family or work function.

Been for breakfast twice. Bacon and poached eggs on the best GF bread ever. Had mushrooms the second time but they finished them off with balsamic vinegar and it was not nice, they tasted pickled and it did not go well with the poached egg. Friends had fruit bread which is made in house. Coffee is nice, depends who makes it. Customer service, again, depends who serves you. I also find it annoying they keep coming back to ask if you want another coffee etc. I would visit again, as it is one of the nicer places in the area.<br/>

The ratio of wraps and condiments to filling was off but they gave us extra without any issues for no extra charge with a smile.<br/><br/>Great neighbourhood gem, worth trying if you're a local.<br/>

Dux functions as a cafe during the day and turns into a restaurant serving quality food at night. The tasting plate was excellent, I really enjoyed the Persian feta and fig tart with a lovely salad, chicken ballotine, and seared scallop with pulled pork and apple. For mains I had the pork trio which was pretty good. The grilled loin and pork belly were a tad dry, though I loved the crumbed rillette. For dessert I indulged in the peanut butter parfait with dark choc ice cream. Excellent dining experience.

This is usually a favourite when the folks are in town but on our last visit we were really disappointed. Out of 5 mains that were ordered, 2 of them were undercooked & inedible. The menu also needs changing more often. Not sure we'll be coming back anytime soon.

It was a girls night out on Friday so Dux seems like a good choice. <br/><br/>I should said this is not my first time, it was few months ago that I came to try with my dimmi redeemed voucher. Had a pork trio - each pork cooked differently and steak which cut just nice. Pana cotta for dessert ended the meal wonderfully.<br/><br/>This time we ordered fish of the day, chicken and seared scallops. Pink snapper was tasty with puree (I forgot the what was the puree but it was tasty with the potato). Chicken however is a little bit dried but still alright. I always think twice ordering chicken in any restaurant as not really sure they can cook it right. Additionally I ordered exotic mushroom as sides, very rich to eat itself but it still taste great. Here we ended our evening with creme brulee and carrot cake, ice cream on the side!<br/><br/>Love the food and their service definitely 10/10, the waitress always take care of us. Definitely will come back again!<br/><br/>

Came here on a Wednesday night and was surprisingly really busy. We ordered the dux gnocchi for an entree which was a bit bland. For mains I had the pork trio which was amazing especially the pork belly, probably one of the softest, juiciest and delicious pork belly I've ever had. My boyfriend had the beef cheek which I wasn't a fan of but he seemed to like it. For dessert we had the pannacotta which was pretty average and the salted caramel which is a must get!! Service was excellent.

I have had fantastic experiences at Dux. They serve beautiful food whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. My favourites are the vego breaky (especially those housemade baked beans!!) and feta and fig tart, as well as anything from the dessert menu! The service is great, the staff are professional yet still friendly. You can tell that the owners have a passion for what they do. It is reflected in the food and service and it is what makes Dux really special. I would definitely recommend Dux as a great restaurant for any occasion.

Celebration dinner at the Dux was great.<br/>The restaurant was warm and inviting. Food was delicious and well presented.<br/>Our waiter was lovely. My only negative comment was that the waiter was really not across all aspects of the menu and has to keep going away to ask some one else. Product knowledge should a basic requirement. That being said we had a lovely meal which we thoroughly enjoyed, I would recommend the Dux to others.

You must try the Persian feta and fig tart! It is to die for! Sweet and salty marry in perfect harmony. The figs are juicy and the feta smooth.<br/><br/>The restaurant itself is clean, sleek and elegant. Staff are accommodating and the quality of food is brilliant (and worth the extra $$$ in my opinion.)

Had dinner at the Dux with my partner last night. What a pleasant evening! <br/>We started with the Dux Tasting Plate to share which included the Persian Feta&Fig Tart, the Onion Bread and also the Mushrooms Arancini. What a success! We absolutely loved it, good balance and flavour (loved the spices on the Tart!). Definitely recommended as you get to taste many different things! <br/>As mains I had the Gnocchi and my partner the Lamb Rump, everything was lovely and served quickly. The gnocchi were home made, and the smoky eggplant puree on the lamb dish was a standout. I am vegetarian and everything was taken care of without any problems.<br/>For desserts we tried the Dux Trinket Tray and the Peanut Butter Parfait, what a great way to finish the night! The caramel sauce on the Parfait was the best I've ever had in a long time, really delicious! And the Trinket Tray was also yum, another way to try many different things at once. <br/>Cocktails and wines were really good too and served professionally (great wine list! Lots of choices). <br/>Overall excellent service and food in a lovely intimate atmosphere. Recommended to anyone who is looking for an above-average night out.

Food pretty average. Certainly expect more when paying close to $40 for a steak!! I'd suggest Rockpool if you feel like red meat. Greasy, small entrees & Nearly 2 hour wait for our meals & finally were served as we were just about to get up & leave! Overrated, overpriced food. Unacceptable In this day & age of so much competition. Don't waste your time or money!!

Perfect Brunch Spot. Went there for brunch and the food was delicious. Service was spot on, reserved a table and were seated promptly, and offered drinks. The location is a nice spot and the inside gives it a nice warm feeling, with ample outdoor seating. Would highly recommended and will be back. Thanks guys!

Wow wow wow. Pricey little place but the food is so complex and delicious. Although portions are small, they're incredibly filling. Only things to nitpick at are some of our food was over cooked but really nothing to complain about. Peanut butter parfait was amazing - the textures and delicateness of the dessert... I don't like goats milk or ginger (2 ingredients in this) but LOVED it in the dessert. White choc brûlée was one of the best brûlées I've ever had, couldn't really taste the white chocolate but glad it wasn't overly sweet. Perfection.

Wonderful food, lovely staff. We knew we were in for a good night when the complimentary plate of bread & 3 dips came out looking scrumptious, especially the dips tasting home-made, not store bought. We ordered the persian fetta & fig tart and seared scallops were entree. The tart base was a bit soggy but everything tasted so good together!! The scallops were plump, fresh and every bit of the salad went so well together. For mains we had the beef sirloin and confit dug leg and WOW we got the rare beef that we ordered!! The meat was tender and melted in the mouth! The dug leg was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, just how it should be. For desserts we had the panna cotta, peanut butter parfait and creme brulee. They were a nice end to our meal although they didn't wow us as much as the savoury dishes did. All in all we enjoyed the night, loved the food and were impressed with the standard of service.

A wonderful recoomendation. A group of 8 of us descended on this restaurant which was a recommendation. I had seen it in the Entertainment Book but as it was not in our normal stomping ground we had not been there before. Well that was a grave mistake. The service was exceptional, as good as what you would get in Melbourne which was so refreshing as Perth waitstaff generally have an attitude issue. We had the 3 course chef's menu, which was exceptional value for the quality of the food and price. My steak was cooked exactly as ordered as were others in our group, those that had the fish were saying it was also cooked perfectly and the flavour was wonderful. All meals hit the table pretty much at the same time and were uniform in presentation and size. The Ras el hanout panna cotta was to die for. We will be going here again and I would recommend you also try it. Additionally if you become a member of their club you also receive additional benefits.

We had Christmas lunch at Dux mid week as we were lucky enough to get a booking the Friday before Christmas!<br/> The menu is fantastic and all items were described with good detail.<br/>I had the rack of lamb which was served with potato purée flavoured with olives, a small lamb shoulder pie (so tasty) and pea puree. <br/>My colleagues had the fish of the day and the duck confit, which was a popular choice!<br/>We all really enjoyed the food. Perfect portion size, delicious flavours and nice presentation. <br/>We finished with coffee and tea. I loved that they even go to the detail of serving good quality leaf teas which only added to the quality of our experience. <br/><br/>I highly recommend this hidden gem

Laughably bad service. I’ve never written a restaurant review before. However my experience at Dux today was so bizarrely bad that I felt compelled to let others know.<br/><br/>I’ve often driven by this restaurant and been curious to try it. Today the opportunity finally arose for my mother and I to drop in for some lunch.<br/><br/>The first bad sign was after we were seated. Our young waitress disappeared for over ten minutes, long after we had decided what we wanted to order. In the meantime, we watched as a couple came in after us and had their orders promptly taken. Not a good look.<br/><br/>Finally our waitress made her long awaited return. We chose to have the “make your own sandwich” option. Unfortunately, the waitress didn’t have a pen or notepad handy and instead decided to try and memorise our order as we listed off the various ingredients we wanted. Needless to say this didn’t work out too well, as she had to come back shortly afterward (still no pen or notepad) to double-check what we wanted.<br/><br/>We then waited for the sandwiches to arrive. And waited. And waited. In the meantime the couple who came in after us had been served their meals (which would have required substantially more prep time than a couple of sandwiches), eaten, and ordered desserts. <br/><br/>After approximately half an hour of waiting, we decided to set the stopwatch on my phone for 5 more minutes, after which we would walk out. The sandwiches finally appeared at the 4 minutes 47 seconds mark.<br/><br/>The sandwiches were nothing special, no different to something I would whip up in a couple of minutes to take to work. At $14 each, I would expect something a bit more substantial and tasty. I would also love to know why they took 35+ minutes, especially since there were less than a dozen customers in the restaurant.<br/><br/>Sure enough, the waitress’ memory had failed and there was no cheese on my sandwich like I had ordered, so I let them know. This was apparently a source of great humour to the waitstaff, as they all commenced giggling and accusing each other of forgetting the cheese (we were later cheerily informed that it was the chef that forgot - good to know?). By this point my mother and I were just kind of looking on in stunned silence. I asked for the $1 extra for the cheese to be removed from the bill and was told it would be (I later did the sums in my head and realised it wasn’t).<br/><br/>After eating our sandwiches, I went up to the counter to pay. Two of the young waitstaff were too busy gossiping with each other to notice me, despite standing directly in front of them. After about 10 seconds I finally caught their attention. “Sorry”, one cheerily proclaimed, “didn’t see you there”. I guess I will have to have a song and dance number ready for next time?<br/><br/>My mother and I both left bewildered to the point of laughter at how bad the service had been. Unless Dux is trying to market itself as some sort of deliberately bad Fawlty Towers tribute dining experience, I don’t think this is the impression you want customers to leave with. We won’t be back.

Unforgettable food and service. Had a Friday night meal at the Dux last week and was impressed from start to end!!1! I had a hard decision choosing from the superb menu at the Dux, but finally settled on the chicken , while my friend, after consulting Pat , settled on the fish of the day. Being a fisherman, my friend was hard to impress , but he was delighted with the fish!!<br/>Pat was asked for guidance regarding the stouts on the menu and eventually chose a ginger stout that was so enjoyable he had two bottles, savouring each drop!<br/>My chicken was stunning; tasty and beautifully presented. <br/>Had to forgo the dessert....tempting as it was because the main meals were so delightfully filling , we could not fit dessert in.<br/>Coffee as always at the Dux, was magic.....served just as I like at exactly the right time.<br/>The Dux is THE place to go for superb food served in a relaxing,cosy environment by staff who know their food . Compliments to Dave and Pat for an excellent night.....will be back again for dessert ....soon.

A winner!. I was very pleasantly surprised by dinner here. I would highly recommend. I went with 3 friends and the food was amazing. I was very impressed with the seafood main, which can often be a disappointment (but not here!). We shared a tasting plate entrée and every element was excellent. The desert menu had plenty of variety and a bit of quirkiness in there too!

Eventually a restaurant I would happily return to!. Went with 3 friends and had the 3 course set menu for $75. Food was very tasty and good portions (very unlike Perth). My main of beef fillet was one of the tenderest steaks I've ever had. Service was excellent. Wine was not a rip off either with most less than 100% margin instead of the 200-300% that most other restaurants charge. Highly recommended. Will be back.

Delish at the Dux. We had a fabulous cosy corner table with an early evening booking. Wanting to take our time, we sat on the menu for ages. The menu was far more expensive than I would have guessed for a local restaurant and I wouldnt go weekly due to the cost. However the shared entree platter with squid, prawns and lamb cigar was totally delicous. The lamb component was horribly named a 'cigar' which I imagined to be tube of meat came out beautifully presented wrapped in filo and it was was devine.<br/>Our main courses of triple pork and steak were stunning and be- fitting of any top plate restaurant. The service was wonderful and we very comfortable in the warm, comfortable surroundings on what was a cold, rainy & stormy Friday night.<br/>Delicous, thank you and would highly recomend.

This is a hard one to review for no other reason than, we used the 50% off Dimmi Deal which made it outstanding value and the service was faultless. The food was cooked well but the dishes weren't extraordinary, nor worth the regular price for my liking. <br/>I can see why many would like it, it seems the food would be consistently decent because it's safe and hey, if you don't mind spending the money for safe, then you're onto a winner. <br/>Me, I like my taste buds to be wowed whether it be cheap or max the credit card and I want to eat food that I can't or wouldn't cook at home...and I'll continue to eat somewhere if the food is brilliant and the service not so much. Like I said though, that's me and with the variety of scrumptious delights we now have in Perth, safe just ain't an option.

I have have had breakfast here many times ( post gym!) and can say hands down my favourite breakfast in town is served here. I just need to mention the great coffee too! Last Friday though i had the oppurtunity to have dinner there. My friend and I had the Chefs set menu. We shared the tasting plate to start... I am still talking about the pork and scallops to other fans of this divine combination. Next up I had the beef... words will not suffice for the melting in the mouth experience that was the beef rib. Just perfect.I also need to steal the recipe for those little potato croquettes!!!Needless to say the dessert did not disappoint either. Home-made sorbet, yes please!!<br/>I would just like to acknowledge our waitress as well whose smiley attentiveness ensured the enjoyment of our evening.

Dinner. This has been our 3rd visit in 3 weeks and its been flawless everytime we go :-)<br/>The restaurant was busy, atmosphere great, we sat outside as it was a beautiful balmy night. The staff were awesome, thank you to Patrick Ali and Sophie for your courteous and friendly service. This time it was our Wedding Anniversary and we were welcomed with a complimentary champagne to celebrate. Our entree's were the salt & pepper squid and the seared scallops. They looked great and tasted even better, very fresh and appealing. Our mains were the Fish of the Day and Master Stock Chicken. Both meals were again fresh and lots of flavour Flawless!! I chose to have the dessert, the creme brulee was to die for. Thank you Sheryn and staff and compliments to the chef for making our evening special. We are definitely going back again and again. Keep up the great work. :-)

Excellent breakfast. Went to Dux for breakfast with family for my birthday, everything was great. I rang and made a booking a few days in advance (there was 10 of us plus my 2 yr old nephew), high chair was no problem, staff member on the phone was friendly and helpful. Food was great, prices good, the atmosphere and vibe inside is great. The space inside is quite small but I prefer this, don't like huge loud restaurants. The wait staff were all friendly and helpful. Not sure what lunch or dinner is like but would definitely go back for breakfast again.

Need to justify the price. Had dinner at Dux last night on a 50% off food deal that we have done previously. We ordered the tasting plate for entree which was quite nice and for mains my wife had the fish which was overcooked and a bit too "steaky" whilst I had the lamb platter which was cold and some aspects were quite tough. The rib, kofta and pie were very nice. A fair effort but you expect better with mains priced at around $38.

A Little Disappointed. Service was very friendly and I liked the atmosphere, but the serving of the vegetarian "big" breakfast wasn't that large, and my poached eggs were stone cold when they came out. Also, one of the eggs was seriously undercooked inside, with the egg white still being a bit raw. The freshly squeezed local juices were really yummy, and I would like to go back and try the evening meals some time as the menu looked great, but I won't go back for breakfast again.

The service was flawless, staffs were friendly and professional, food that we ordered (6 diff items: feta & figs tart, pumpkin ravioli, Dux bread plate, exotic sauteed mushrooms, figs & blue cheese salad, beer battered chips) ticked all the boxes. this place has a bright and promising future!

An enjoyable, decent dinner had, yes, but fine dining I wouldnt say so, no. Really cant complain, but went as it is in the Entertainment Book gold card section as fine dining. I dont agree to it being a fine dining restaurant. Just a nice, cosy, laid back cafe/restaurant really. Ordered chicken and maybe Im a chicken snob but for almost $40 for a main I dont expect a wing and a leg as part of a fine dining main menu....wont be back.

Awesome. This place is fantastic and has everything - great food, great service. I think they do the best steak sandwich in Perth so I would definitely recommend if going there for lunch to order the steak sandwich, you wont be disappointed. For the sweet tooth, they have a great selection of muffins, friands & cakes but my favourite is the Crème Brulee which is divine, the best I've ever had. We visit this place quite frequently and have never had a bad meal and we look forward to going back soon. Thanks

Lovely Evening. This place has a posh feel to it on the inside, and the service is exceptional. In fact all the waiters and waitresses were knowledgeable and had a smile on their faces even when it started to get busy. The food is priced on the higher end, however its definitely worth it. The ambiance is intimate with decent background music. I will return again in the near future.

Definitely neighbourhood gem. Fantastic food, fantastic service, very reasonably priced. The chef set menu is very good value at $75 pp for 3 course +tea/coffee/port. If ur a member, it's $65pp (just register on their website, it's free). The quality of the food is definitely fine dining standard & the portion is good. It'll definitely satisfy your hunger. We went there on dimmi special which makes it extra good value, but even without the discount, it's still good value considering the quality & quantity. Atmosphere was ok, a bit bright for my liking but it's a personal preference. Wine was good & reasonably priced. Very happy & satisfied with the experience. Will definitely come back & will recommend to others.

Just had a lovely dinner here tonight using the urbanspoon voucher. It was excellent! We were a bit unsure from the outside as it is small and looks more like a little cafe, but looks are deceiving! We had the Persian Fetta and fig tart, and scallops and pork for entrees. Both were great. My rabbit main was lovely and perfectly cooked. My partner had the wagyu medallion and rib which was also lovely. We will be back!

Consistently Excellent. We have been to Dux several times over the past year for both breakfasts and dinner - service is really friendly and professional. Food is outstanding and have never been disappointed - they must have a great chef! Love the place and just wish they would move north of the river so that we have more choice than we do in the area. Will be back for sure and worth the drive to get there.

I hadn't eaten at the dux for about 7 years but ate there for lunch today. It's lovely to see a place that has kept serving such high quality food all this time and still trying new things on the menu. We had the grilled sardines which was great to share as a starter for lunch and then had a salad. I think their prices are the classic 'you get what you pay for'. I'd rather pay that little more for real food. Well done dux.

Last night my wife and I we had dinner at the Dux, quite atmomosphere, the staff was ready to any question about the menu...finely we choose the set menu, I had the duo beef perfectly cooked as requested medium rare, the ribs where amazing.

Wow!!! We went here last night. Started with tasting plate - Scallops, Rabbit & Beef cooked perfectly & delicious. Mains were Beef Duo, Duck & Chicken Supreme and again cooked perfectly & so tasty! White chocolate Brulee is also a must! The service was excellent - so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant - we will be back for sure!!!

Dux has the best of everything you could want when dining out or relaxing over a perfectly made coffee!I have made the Dux my special treat every Saturday as their breakfast is pure heaven....eggs Benedict being my favourite breakfast meal of choice!The staff bring my meal out just as I have finished drinking a delicious cup of their lovely coffee, so everything is timed perfectly to ensure a memorable breakfast is enjoyed. A breakfast so enjoyable that I leave counting the days until next Saturday when I can again be spoilt by the Dux and their magnificent service!!

Fantastic Fine Dining Experience. Recently went to the Dux Restaurant for dinner, it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend the Chef's Set Menu! The tasting plate was a perfect starter, had a little bit of everything. We also had the garlic prawns, they are to die for. The Duo of Beef was absolutely amazing, enjoyed every second of it. And the Brûlée to finish was divine. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, I recommend the Dux Restaurant.

Celebrating food. Had a scrumptious 3 course meal last Thursday night at the Dux. Have enjoyed the food and service at the Dux on a few occasions lately and have not been disappointed. The humble rabbit has become an art form in the dishes that are presented. The scallops are to die for! Don't get me started on the desserts -the only reason one ventures out on 'cold' winter nights. All in all, the serves are pleasantly filling, the food very well presented and the staff are always accommodating and informative of their menu. I couldn't recommend it more highly, for that intimate meal for two, the family celebration or even to impress for a business deal.

Another great evening - 6 July 2013. Customer service excellent once again - they just make you feel so very special.<br/>We all had the set menu at the members price of $65. Tasting plate was perfect -sorry I didn't take a photo of it or the menu. I had beef fillet which simply fell apart - was magnificent. Others had the fish which also got the thumbs up. Dessert topped off an excellent meal and washed down with a hot chocolate - all great.<br/>To top it off - splitting the bill was not an issue - in fact their cash register has a program to key in how many to split it into. <br/>We will return and encourage friends and family to frequent also.<br/>Well done Dux

Otherwise for me, I would only visit for breakfast or lunch if i was in the area. However, I have been for dinner once, and really enjoyed it.<br/><br/>Coffee was good. No kids items on breakfast menu, but the waiter did say that child-size pancakes could be ordered.

Great place to eat. I couldn't disagree more with the last review, I think they must have been in a different restaurant! We visited Dux on a Tuesday evening which, given most restaurants wouldn't have enough patrons to notice the tumbleweed blowing through, was reasonably well populated - always an encouraging sign. We were seated straight away, offered the usual choices of water and given our menus. The staff were friendly and attentive and after our order of drinks were delivered we were ready to get down to business and study the menu in detail. There isn't a huge selection of dishes, more a concentrated selection of entrees and mains which are a little different than your usual fare. given there were four of us and we liked the look of the entree tasting plate (the chef's selection of three entrees) and decided we'd go for that. Given we were a four and all wanted the tasting plate, we were offered two tasting plates where we could try every entree - maybe because it was a Tuesday, maybe because they had ingredients to use up, maybe because they’re just good that way - but whatever the reasons we readily accepted and were very glad we did. We didn't have a bad word to say about any of this dishes, indeed they were all excellent. . My personal favourite was the feta and fig tart. Great combination and perfect balance between the sweetness of the fig and savoury of the feta. After that it was bring it on with the mains. Two beefs, a pork and a fish. I was a beef - cooked perfectly and with a side order of greens, which were deliciously fresh - everyone else at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well, and the pork was especially well received, the pork belly was "crispy on the top and the fat was melt in the mouth delicious" according to my companion. All round it was very enjoyable and we had just enough room left for dessert. I had the white chocolate brulee served with home made ice cream and biscotti which was a great way to finish off but boy were we full afterwards. Great selection of wines and a quiet intimate ambience made for a good evening all round - definitely worth a revisit and if you can sign up free for the members club you get money off your bill. All in all great food, lovely atmosphere and excellent service. We'll be back.

Wouldn not return for round two... Would not recommend this restaurant anyone.. Food terrible it took 30-40mins for entre, 1 was ok and the other was well over cooked scallops and pork u had to chew for a while. Then the mains both horrible under cooked pork then the pork belly was just fat got told we got a bad bit of the bucnh if they new that dont put it on the plate. Then we had the duck with burnt sauce yum not......... Then to get offered a free dessert why would we want anymore food when 3 out for 4 meals where terrible..

Long wait and food average. We waited for almost one hour, and when the food did come out, it was ok but not worth the travel. Overall the big brekkie lacked flavour and was nothing extraordinary. The poached eggs were well over-cooked; dry and pasty and the bacon lacked flavour. What was good was the hash brown, the only saving grace of the dish. I won't be going back or recommending this place!

Fantastic restaurant with yummy food. Beef duo was delicious and homemade vanilla bean icecream was incredible! Had the chefs three course meal for $75 - don't be fooled though - its actually cheaper to have the individual meals. All round though, very nice and I would go back :)

The little things niggle. Have eaten here a few times now and the food is good.<br/>However, what irritates me is being pointed to a table as opposed to being seated. Having to pay $7 for 2 slices of bread with a tiny bit of oil and balsamic and some herb butter, being offered still or sparkling water-still cost $8 a bottle!!!! Having to pay an additional $9 for vegetables on top of $40 mains and having minute amounts of condiments with a $15 dessert ie a dessert spoon of cream and about 1cm in the bottom of a jug of sauce. <br/>Having got that off my chest the entertainment voucher discount of $40 softened the blow.<br/>Go back again? Only with a voucher and being quick enough to ask for tap water.

Nice, good service, delicious food.. The family went for lunch at Dux for Mothers Day, it was busy but not full to brimming. We ordered the fish of the day (Gold Band Snapper, excellent fish), Tea smoked duck breast, lamb two ways and a pasta dish. It took over an hour for the meals to be served but as the food was delicious we stopped getting tetchy. Initially thought the meals looked small but they were enough without feeling too full. Would go back again.....on pay day.

Excellent Customer service, amazing food.. First time at dux- went their for a coffee in the morning and suggested the baristo to go into a baristo competition. coffee was the best coffee i ever had. Went back for lunch after a week the staff was very friendly and food was just yummmmmmm... (wish the brulee comes in a bucket). i was very impressed and could not stop myself to book my birthday party at dux. one of my best birthday party. all of my friends gave me a really good feed back. the food the customer service, location, environment and so on. i just love it there.<br/>never going anywhere else a big well done to staff at dux and i think you deserve to be one of the best.

Great restaurant any time of day. I have had many experiences at the Dux Restaurant and all of them wonderful. Ive been for coffee and taken two young children. Ive been for breakfast with a friend, romantic dinner with husband and a night out with friends. This is what I enjoy about the Dux Restaurant the versatility, quality and consistency of a good time, great food morning noon and night. I even have the relief in knowing that the food is cooked fresh on the spot with fresh out of the garden produce. I encourage and recommend all to experience the Dux Restaurant.

Hidden little Gem. I have driven past Dux for years and never ventured in....unfortunately! What a little gem. The food is fresh, top quality and cooked with love. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Although the decor is a little dated, don't let this prevent you from trying out Dux.....you won't be disappointed.

RnB. Have been to Dux Restaurant quite a few times and always enjoyed the food and the service. It is hard to find this type of dining experience these days. Everything was fresh and carefully presented. The live music on one occasion was an extra bonus.

Not entirely sure what all the fuss is about. Went for dinner with my gf, was looking forward to trying the dishes recommended by others but was surprised to find a completely different and limited menu. I ordered the lamb 2 ways ($38), my gf had the duck ($40). After about 45 minutes we finally got our dishes, but there wasn't tht much to look forward to. presentation was mediocre and somewhat a mess in that the slow cooked lamb really looked more like slop on a plate, flavors were slightly unconventional (everything just tasted sweet) and really not complex or sophisticated, and portion sizes, well I wouldn't be surprised if you felt like ordering another main. There wasn't anything on the dessert menu worth looking at so that was the end of the night. I can't say anything about the wine or othr dishes wish may be amazing but I guess I expected more dir what I was paying. Mayb a bit more complexity and harmony between each dishes elements. Staff were fine, ambience and conversation were delightful.

We dined at this establishment last Tuesday night.<br/>We started off with Entree - two slices of bread accompanied with olive oil and vinegar and herbed butter, very tasty.<br/>Main Meal - Boyfriend had FOD which was Salmon accompanied with a small side salad.<br/>My main meal was Masala Chicken Kiev which was accompanied with a trio of condiments which were all vry tasty.<br/>Dessert - Boyfriend had Creme Brulee<br/>I had the Triple Choc cake.<br/>Positives: Staff were very attentive and curteous and polite.<br/>Meals were all very tasty.<br/>Venue: very comfortable<br/>Cons: Main meals were very small sizing, more like an Entree size.<br/>Desserts were even smaller.<br/>Price wise, a little on the expensive for the size of the meals that we received.<br/>Conclusion: We were very happy with the service but very disappointed with the size of the meals presented to us.<br/>Cons:

It's not that I don't like Dux, it's just that there's not enough of a reason for me to go back. On the plus sides, the staff are friendly and reasonably attentive, and the atmosphere although intimate is pleasant. The mushroom risotto is good, as is the trio of beef, although I wouldn't rate the beef cheeks pasta dish as I found it a bit on the bland side. The desserts are ok as are the entrees - there's nothing awful here, but nothing I'd rave about either, and therein lies the problem. Everything's ok but it's not great so the high pricetags don't seem justified. I feel we've given it a good go and doubt we'll be back, unless the food improves or the prices drop.

My daughter and I had a meal at the Dux cafe in Como for the first time today and we really enjoyed it. Food was tasty though serves are on the smaller side we were there for lunch so it was ample. I had the prawn and mango salad, it was delicious and my daughter had the goats cheese ravioli and said it was really good. I had the white chocolate creme brûlée with homd made vanilla icrecream and it was the best I have had outside of Paris. The triple chocolate dessert was also really also a big hit but perhaps a big rich for the middle of the day:) coffee was really good and strong and service was very friendly and efficient. We had a scoopon voucher and were made to feel very welcome and so were all the other patrons at the time we were there. I notice they seem to have a few regulars which is always a good sign. Highly recommend it and will back soon.

Bad service, worse food. We went to Dux originally on a scoopon degustation, which, while not overly creative, gave me enough reason to come back. I should've quit while I was ahead. Dined on a Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant packed - usually a good sign...<br/>We waited 30 minutes for 2 glasses of wine.<br/>The wine was poured and the waiter left without asking for our order so it took another few minutes to hail him back to our table. We ordered the 'tapas platter' to share, the duck with scallops and pork belly, and lamb 2 ways.<br/><br/>The platter took 45 minutes to arrive. To call this 'tapas' is an insult to Spanish cuisine. 2 pieces of toast ( yes, toast!) were presented on a plate with the following; olives, fetta, chorizo, a capsicum dip, a few prawns and 2 lamb cutlets which were crumbed and deep fried so that I almost needed a triple bypass after 1 mouthful. The prawns, chorizo etc were 'fine'. As in, I could open my fridge, throw a few things on a plate and be just as satisfied... And not have to pay $36 for the privilege! <br/>We then waited an hour and 10 minutes for our mains to arrive. We received 2 ducks, instead of 1 duck and 1 lamb. They took 1 dish away without apology and returned 15 minutes later with the lamb. By this time, I had taken a few mouthfuls of the duck before it got cold... A few mouthfuls were all I could stand. The duck was ... Weird... It had very little flavor and a texture like chewy mousse... The scallop and pork belly redeemed it only slightly. The highlight of the dish was the mango salsa and when the garnish is the best part of a dish, it is cause for concern. My partner didn't seem to mind his lamb, although by this stage he would have eaten the bum out of a low flying duck. I tried each of the lamb options and disliked both... <br/>Served with warm white wine, it was possibly the most unappetizing thing I've eaten this year. <br/>I am not a fussy or pedantic eater but I'm getting pretty tired of paying inflated, opportunistic prices (our meal set me back $170) for sub-standard food. <br/>Will not be back

Quite disappointed, poor service (nice people), just constantly had to ask for more water and wine pouring skills were dismal. The food was tasty however the main size gnocchi was exactly the same size as entree, this was annoying for those who paid the extra $13 for the main.

Small but fantastic all-rounder. Came here for the first time with a scoopon degustation deal. It was $150 for two degustations with matching wines. I'm a big fan of degustations and this did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and we were given a full glass with each course (6 in total), though my husband did complain that there was too much wine for the small portions of food, though this didn't bother me.<br/><br/>Flavourwise was not as amazing as some other perth degustations I've had but if it were priced competitively compared to other perth degustations, I would definitely return for one of their degustations (they mentioned they had regular monday degustation nights)
