The kids loved it. The service was good and the sushi was as well. The only "gripe" if you can even call it a gripe, is that there is a special every night except Thursday. Lol
I'll be back on Monday for 2for1 sake.

Relaxing atmosphere, and authentic Japanese food from the only local chain owned by Japanese. If you are a couple, I'd recommend sitting at the sushi counter, it makes for a better experience. Lots off sushi rolls made for American tastes..if you don't like the seaweed (nori) then ask for your roll to be made with rice or soy paper. It's extra, but helps you enjoy the taste.

Best sushi around hands down! Great quality, clean restaurant, and great staff. They are always willing to accommodate our needs (and my husband is very picky at where he likes to sit and his service.) Without hesitation they will sit us in an area of our choosing and will do all they can to make sure we are satisfied. I have been going to this location regularly for 3 years now and have yet to be dissatisfied with a visit!

I ate the chicken teriyaki. It was good. Veggies were nicely cooked and served in an ample portion. Nice portion of chicken too, enough to take home some left overs. I think Sekisui is more of a sushi place than anything else. They may excel at that.

This review is mainly for anyone considering purchasing a "restaurant certificate" for this place.
I frequently receive emails to purchase a $25 restaurant certificate to the Collierville Sekisui for $3. Being a big sushi lover, I went ahead and bought 3 of the certificates a few months back. While you can technically still save roughly $13 if you were going to spend $50 anyways, there are a few stipulations to the certificate that were not clearly stated and that I would want anyone to know before they bought them:
1. Your purchase must exceed $50 to use the certificate at all.
2. An 18% gratuity is mandated if you use the certificate.
That's right; mandatory 18% gratuity on a purchase that must be at least $50. While you might think you can save $25 by using the certificate, my total after tax came out to $37+ for $50 in food after using the certificate, so MUCH less of a value than it appears to be. I do not know if this is the case at all locations but it definitely is the case at the Collierville location.
As for the actual sushi, I've never had a bad experience at any of the Sekisui locations and Tuesday, 7/10/2018 was no different. The food is wonderful but the prices are probably among the highest you will find for sushi in the city.

This location is fairly unassuming and doesn't have a lot of frills. The food is a different story. Definitely a great place for good nigiri, rolls, and sashimi. I came on a Monday night and they have a 2 rolls for $10 deal(!) our waitress was attentive and the sushi was put at light speed. Also the gyoza is pretty good! Will absolutely be coming back.

We've eaten here twice and enjoyed it. It's quaint, and quiet. No wait! Service is friendly and the food is as good as any hibachi grill, but without the ado.

We ordered sushi and it simply never came. The waitress was great and kept apologizing but we left after an hour and went to Bankok Alley. We usually go to Bankok or Fugi Cafe, but wanted to try something different. We won't go back. ok
