Buffet City

This was our first time and we were very impressed. Kind and attentive staff. Lots of quality sushi choices and the oysters were so fresh tasting! The General Tso's chicken rocked. The sugar donuts tasted just like my mom used to make. It was a great date the environment was so cozy and we were able to talk to each other comfortably. Best Buffet in my opinion for comfort, yummy balicious food and great service. Hit all my marks for a great experience

I've been frequenting this location for years, it's not the fanciest place but the foods always been good. The trip today was the opposite. The water was basically undrinkable and smelled awful, the food was about normal but when I got dessert there was hair in the pudding. So that's not great, then when I went to pay I normally just go to the counter however this time a person took my card up for me, not a big deal, but when they came back they kept pointing at the tip area. I normally tip very well at other locations but this is a buffet, so I just politely said no, and was again shown the receipt and had the tip spot pointed out to me. Your water is undrinkable and there was hair in your food, if anything you should have given me a refund. I marked 0 in the tip column and walked out.

I have always liked coming to this place and look forward to it any time I do go. Good food especially during busy times due to the fact they gotta keep fresh food coming out for customers. But tonight was different. Good as usual but when it came time to pay the bill I was far from impressed. Waitress gave me my ticket and was gonna walk up to the front like I have in the past various times I gone there. She comes up and stops me in my tracks and says here I got it thank you. Walks back gives me my other receipt to do tip and dollar amount. The option on the receipt is mandatory to tip now and she stood over my shoulder eyeing me as I write and sign. She noticed my girlfriend looking cause she knew what she was doing then she quickly looks away. All in all I’m all for tipping but I don’t need feel like I’m forced to leave one let alone be watched. I work for a moving company that is tip based as well and surely disciplinary action would be taken if I displayed such behavior.

I've been living in Iowa for about 2 months now and already gone to quite a few buffets and Asian/Chinese restaurants. This was the best buffet experience I've had so far in this state, I went right at opening time for lunch with my girlfriend and for the both of us to eat with drinks it came out to $21 or so. There was sushi, tons of seafood options which was Great !!!! Not something I was used to seeing in buffets, overall there was a large amount of choices , all of the items I chose tasted very good ! Most importantly the seafood didn't taste " old or bad " which is a big thing when you eat seafood on a daily basis The only thing I can say is not all the food was hot which was the only shame about this place :/ but I'm still going to rate this place 5/5 because all the other buffets I've been to had pretty cold food as well -_- ! If the owner of this place sees this review I highly suggest keeping the steam tables ON, or at the least making sure the hot food stays HOT, that would set you apart from other buffets in the same price range As for the staff , WOW ! they were very kind, respectful and I DIDN'T feel rushed to get out like I have been in other buffets which is a disgusting thing for the workers to do to patrons, The staff at this place say thank you, have an amazing day and treat you the way you should be ! Overall I will be back !
