Dempsey's Pizza

I used to frequent this restaurant all the time as a young child. My grandparents brought me to Dempsey's frequently and it always has been held as a fond memory. It had probably been 15 years since I'd been here but it's still as good if not better than I remember. Don't sleep on the lasagna, it's the bomb dot com. Cheese pizza? Classic. Taco pizza? Very good. Chocolate chip dessert pizza? Melt in your mouth. Salad bar had lots of variety. Employees were constantly cleaning and bringing out new trays of food the entire time we were there. Refills on drinks were quick and our waitress whooshed away our dirty plates before we could even blink. Even if you're just passing through, take the detour off the highway and come here if you're ready to be filled with yummy pizza!! Bonus points it didn't give us heartburn like a lot of other pizza places do, but that differs for everyone.

We always stop at this place whenever passing through Clinton and even though it's about 1 hour from our home went several other times just because we missed it and wanted a change from the nearby local places. This was our 1st visit since before the pandemic. Everything looked the same on entry - nice greetings from the staff in the kitchen and at thee counter, pizza on the buffet, fresh salad at the bar and excellent, friendly service from the wait staff. Didn't notice the wings out and thought they might be coming as we had arrived shortly after they opened. We made a trip to the bars for some salad, pizza and pasta. Still didn't see and wings, so we asked our waitress about them. We were disappointed to hear that wings had been eliminated from the buffet for over a year due to high cost from their supplier (this was way before the 'supply chain' problem). Unfortunate. We hope for their return to the buffet.

It's great when it's good but it's terrible when it's bad. They are always overcrowded which makes the atmosphere way to loud. The workers are always rushing which leads to burnt pizza, not fully cooked pizza, & little to no refills. But if you can manage to go one of the rare times they're not overwhelmingly full the pizza is delicious, & the staff is very wonderful! The prices are high!! 2 adults & 3 children is $50, & for this area it is extremely overpriced.

Been going here so long I can't even remember how long. When I was younger I went for the dessert pizzas (choc. chip is legendary) I still go for the BLT pizza and the salad bar in my older age. There's pasta too and it's better than most local pasta places. The service is typically friendly and fast and it's still the best pizza in the county. The staff will fill your belly and float your back teeth and still make you feel like you're leaving the party early. It's like family (assuming you like your family). Easily on par with the cost of family dining elsewhere and if you go enough the punch card can improve on that. Don't wanna brown-nose too much but I highly recommend giving it a try. And if you don't like it well there's a doctor nearby to get your taste buds checked because you're wrong and you need Jesus. Just kidding. Might not be for everyone but I've yet to meet that person. Oh yeah, even has a big parking lot with trailer space for crews at lunch.
