Chips' Pub Iii

Will not be coming here again for so many reasons. Tonight I got the avocado pesto pasta with chicken. The chicken was an extra $5… there were 6 small pieces of chicken in the whole bowl. The sauce was hilarious actually, it was NOT cooked properly because it was so thin there were droplets of milk coming off of my fork with every bite. We have come here many times, mostly because my partner likes the buffalo shrimp and because this is one of the only restaurants ever open on a Monday. The service is ridiculously slow every time, and it’s just so overpriced for what it is. The entrees are as expensive as some of the much much nicer places we’ve been to around here. It’s so frustrating. I am just disappointed.

Generally a fine place. I have eaten there a few times and can say with confidence it's like most New England American pub restaurant. Good food, homely atmosphere. Has some nice outdoor seating despite not having a view. I will say my last meal there stood out. I had a swordfish taco special that was really good and very different than most of the menu.

Great food for 40 years. Love coming here 12 months a year. BUT...... Please, Please, Please, ...... somebody tell the owner/ management that not everybody likes IPAs and Cider. In fact many of us seriously dislike BOTH. How about a UFO white, Allagash White, a local Wheat or something for the rest of us.

So I'm leaving a 5 star review dispite the fact this is a 2 star establishment at best. My reasons for doing so are although I have gotten food poisoning here now more times that I can count I still come back. I am currently sat at a table drinking a completely 100% flat stella that tastes like actual trash juice. Yet here I am. I have in the past received mouldy tortillas with my fajitas, a fairly unimaginable feat if you consider just how long it takes for tortillas to mould. Having come here since I was a child barely able to read I suppose it is just a matter of convenience, my biggest complaint is even though there's abysmally slow service and food literally not fit for human consumption, they insist upon regularly raising the prices. A dish that was 13 has climbed from 14, and then to 15 in the last year. See you next time Chips Pub, probably on a Monday where there's no other options open.
