Grounded For Life Cafe

I never shy away from trying a new vegan spot, and I'm so happy to have driven out of my way to fine Grounded for Life Cafe. Had a fresh pressed juice, the breakfast taco, and got the chickpea salad wrap and Cajun tofu wrap to go. Everything was delicious, perfectly portioned, and reasonably priced! If I lived in Clinton, NJ (or really anywhere within practical driving distance), I would eat there 2xs a day. For now, I'll save it for special trips. Will certainly be back as I explore the cute little main street close by. Thank you!

Loved coming to this place until today. Unfortunately while trying to place an order with the Manager or Owner (hopefully not) I was given lots of attitude and told that I was being “complicated” and the excuse was that they just opened after being closed for 3 days and new employees were training. Sorry but not my problem! I understand being a small business owner myself of what unexpected events can occur and hard times we face but that’s no reason to take it out on customers. I can only hope this is not what is being taught to your new employees because in this current climate customer service is everything ESPECIALLY in small businesses. However, the employees were very nice and understanding of “complications” which was no more than modifying a couple items. I face this everyday. You are in the business to make people happy not give attitude.

The idea is great! I like that they are inclusive, ane all plant based cafe, but staff seems confused half of the time. They didn’t give me my whole order the one time, had to come back and get the rest, spend my whole lunch break driving around. Today I order a “sunshine” burger. The menu and the staff does a terrible job explaining what it had and the brown rice on the patty was under cooked and falling apart. Called to get it switch for something else and they said sorry, next time just order the “right one”. I don’t think I will be eating here anymore, waste of my money!

I ordered the Quinoa Sunshine Wrap and my friend had the same but in salad form. The warmed wrap’s shredded veggies were fresh and crispy with hummus on one side and ripe avocado on the other, dressed with a green, creamy sauce fit for a goddess. We both throughly enjoyed our lunches and are so happy to find a restaurant serving creative plant-based menu choices. It is a takeout business but they have a patio with tables and chairs which we used to enjoy the day.
