56 Degrees

Had a really awful experience at this bar yesterday with my friend and her bridal party. A group of us went in to get seated and told our group of ten was to large to be sat in the mostly empty lounge. No problem we thought, we can just split in 2 smaller groups and be sat separate. We were told that it was no different then if we were one group so we left. We walked to the restaurant part of the lodge which was less than 10 ft away to try there, and the staff was shocked they wouldn’t let us sit at the bar. They told us to go back in and sit in separate groups. So we did. The same guy walked to our separate tables and addressed both tables to tell us we would be billed as a group of ten. Again, we don’t care, we just want to enjoy a drink and then be on our way. He walked away so he and his blonde co worker could loudly talk about how much they hate serving bridal parties which the bride was unfortunate enough to hear. With tears in her eyes, she removed her bridal crown and asked us if we could leave. We ended up staying because it was hard to find a place to get drinks anywhere else during the busy weekend. It was awful. The guy even paid for one of the brides drinks after realizing that this was probably going to end in a review. Guess the drink didn’t work.

Perfect place to relax after a long day exploring. The bartenders were so friendly and helpful, you can tell they were experienced and willing to make things that are not on the menu or different than the usual. Cozy spot right off of the lobby, so take your drink, sit in front of the big windows in the great room and enjoy!

I had a delivery at this beautiful Resort. I got in the evening before so I took advantage of stopping at 56 degrees to grab some appetizers and a cold drink. Small and intimate bar with an incredible view of the valley. What made this particular trip memorable was the incredible service I received from Jenny. I truly felt pampered as a customer. She was extremely friendly, provided excellent service, along with intelligent conversation. After a while I felt like I was one of the bars favorite regulars. I would highly suggest stopping in for a cold one if you're visiting and see if Jenny is covering the bar. You won't be disappointed. ☆☆☆☆☆

My husband and I were at Suncadia resort because of a Swedish hospital employee event. Needless to say our evening was exceptional due to our waitress/bartender Andrea. I have worked in the service industry years ago and understand how hard it can be at times, but Andrea had every single person in high spirits and talking about how lovely she is. The only big downfall to our night was a gentleman who I believe his name was Matty, attempted to serve us, but yet also told us we could not be in our room (which our group had reserved as well as paid lots of money for) past 8:30pm. We had just finished eating and we’re drinking very heavily when he came and said we had to leave in 20 minutes. We asked management what the deal was, and they informed us there was no such thing and we had all the time to enjoy ourselves.... so we did. We asked to not have the gentleman back in the room, as he was no help anyways. We drank plenty until 10:30 pm, and half our group came back into the bar to find Andrea and thank her as well as tell management how amazing she was, but unfortunately they were all gone for the night. It has been a great retreat for us, and we also look forward to coming back. If anyone is stopping in the area, I recommend stopping in 56 and saying hello to Andrea.

Conclusion: great little lounge, just barely justifies its price tag but it DOES justify it in the end. Pros: creative appetizer menu, patient, quick, friendly staff. Cons: a touch lacking in the hard liquor and beer department, but it is after all a wine oriented place. Prices are best stomached with a few shots of vodka. I had the "pork belly, with ginger and apple gastrique, pickled fennel and micro salad". It was DIVINE. I cannot wait to come back, specifically for that.
