Mag's Japanese Cafe

came here for a meal with friends and the food was amazing with excellent service. only a small place, but a very friendly atmosphere. we ordered a wide range of items from the menu and it was all great. some really good vegan options too, plus some things that you don’t typically see at a japanese restaurant, like deep fried sushi. will definitely go back!

Party of 4 adults and a child and we didn’t book. We had a superb meal with various items off the menu and we will undoubtedly return, it was superbly presented and cooked. The size of this place is small but can see this business going from strength to strength as the food is good, and at a decent price . Excellent polite service too.

I ordered on Chorley Eats and it arrived within 45 mins quite far from them (Eccleston). That was quite possibly the best sushi I have had in a very long time... maybe ever. The Chorley Special Uramaki (top left) was incredible, as was the California Hot Roll (top right), the salmon sashimi was super fresh and delicious and the chicken karage was amazing too... lastly the dumplings were great as well. Thank you :)

Ahh the food, just thinking about them makes me drool. Had to drive 50 miles just to dine here everytime. Of all the places in the lakes, there is none that comes close to what you guys cook. Try the LX roll, chicken karaage, the gyoza (when asked how'd you want it, say fried), salmon nigiri.. basically everything.

This small Japanese restaurant with 4 tables but the food was very tasty with quality and reasonable prices. Just 2 of us, ordered 6 kinds of sushi rolls, filled us really full. Nice staff & good chef. I have been in many Japanese restaurants in Manchester, Bolton and Worsley, here’s the good one, recommended !

Food is absolutely amazing! We live in Wigan but we come here from time to time even though it’s a 30-min drive, just because the food is so good! Deffo one of the most authentic Japanese food you can find in the area🤌🏻 Staffs are also very friendly and helpful, would 100% recommend! Worth a try to call before dining in to make sure there’s a table for you tho😉

This is my third time eating here and I meant to write a review the first time I went but got complacent. This time, I visited with a friend. First impressions, it's a cute little cafe that makes a warming presence on Pall Mall. You enter and you can either order for take away or sit in where there are about 6 or so tables for two (and maybe a table for four, though I can't remember. Most likely not, will need verifying.) Waiter/waitresses that I have met are very nice. You can get drinks whenever you want and then bring them up to the counter. Lovely drinks like Mogu Mogu and Ramune are available, but they do have western drinks if you prefer. Takoyakis are some of the best starter dishes I have ever had; the sweetness of the relish is delectable (be careful not to burn your mouth, it can leave tears on the roof of your mouth if you eat too quickly due to how hot they are). I then had some furikake don, which was nice and spicy. Not too spicy but a great burst of flavour. Prawn gyozas are very crunchy and come with a sweet sauce that enhances the shell. And to finish off, I had some miso soup (which I came to realise that I am not the biggest fan of tofu because it naturally lacks flavour but oh well. And I forgot to photograph) and some prawn tempura supumen (noodles), which come with very thick noodles. I actually find it easier to eat the noodles with chopsticks (which means hashi in Japanese, which also means bridges, the choice depends on your syllable pitch) than I do with the spoon provided, but the spoon helps with the tempura and the soup of the broth. Too long, didn't read: It is a very warm and welcoming little cafe, and a gem of Pall Mall. So far one of my favourite places to eat and will definitely be a returning customer. My friend also loves this place and he has never had Japanese food before. If you are a fan of fish and want to try eastern cuisine, you ought to try this place.
