Nero

I'm really sorry to say this but it's not the Cafe Nero it once was. The staff barely know how to make a decent cup of coffee, let alone anything else! Now that the staff have to deal with "Deliveroo" and other online orders, they're getting distracted and can't give the service to their in-store customers as would would want or expect. Personally, I have chosen to avoid going here now, and I'm just waiting to see what the new coffee shop opening in what was 'Pizza Pie' will be like. Hopefully it can't be any worse 😕 Needless to say, I would avoid Nero if you're looking for a decent cup of coffee! Very disappointed 😟

I have been meeting my friend here for 10 years now, most weeks. Being an old building, it can sometimes appear a little shabby inside (but part of the vibe/atmosphere imo). Staff struggle to stay on top of tables/clutter when people have gone, but that's purely because they're so busy and popular. The staff here are ALWAYS on the go. I had cause to complain early this year, and customer service were exceptional (Justine, from memory, who turned it around for me). Eleni stands out amongst the hardworking staff: always good humoured and welcoming, accommodating, despite being so exceptionally busy. It is incredible how they remember customers and their orders every time. Thank you also to Eleni for saving my sunglasses, left behind by accident on a recent visit!! I hope the higher management have recognised your efforts at this branch. (The quality coffee is just a lovely bonus 😁)
