Steak 38

Came here for the first time for Valentine’s Day. Service was great. The food was excellent. We had the goat cheese crostini as an app. My husband did their chocolate Godiva martini. So good! Their manager Anastasia was so sweet and personable. Excited to come back again and can’t wait to try the other location in Tabernacle.

Wow, just wow! We are from CT and traveled to cherry hill for baseball. Driving up to this restaurant I was alittle nervous. So happy we stepped inside. The place was packed, the staff was very friendly. The experience as a whole was amazing. This was the best dinner experience I have had, and I’m a foodie. I have a restaurant backing round of 15 plus years, and this has surpassed everything I would expect for a date night dinner. The strip steak special with the Demi fig glaze and goat cheese was to die for! The filet royal, melted in your mouth! This place is amazing! Make sure to end your dinner with the banana fosters, all the hype is reality!

Came here for my husband's birthday. This place was recommended to me and exceeded my expectations. Staff is friendly from the door to your table.. Everything was beautiful. Excellent customer service. Our waiter Sam was awesome. His assistant Dan was nice and attentive. Sam sang a Luther Vandross song to us and was very friendly. You can tell Sam loves his job. Food was great as well. Will definitely go back. My friends and I had a great time.

Oh what a lovely experience, It was our first time coming yesterday. We were celebrating our anniversary. And our first time out since covid. Steak 38 met every expectation and then some! Everyone was so very attentive on an extremely busy night. They gave us champagne on the house to celebrate. We were beaming and all smiles for how beautiful and lovely everything just was. Now the food! We got oysters rockefeller which was amazing, fried calamari ooo chefs kiss! Was Devine. I was thrilled to see they had snapper soup and that did not disappoint. Our main course we both got the surf and turf with black truffle butter and a side of their mac and cheese. Their filet mignon was out of this world. I truly cant wait till we can go back. Everyone and everything was simply perfect. Thank you for a wonderful date night :).

Haven't been here in years but so glad we went back!! The steaks were incredible and perfectly cooked. Got the filet and larger ribeye. Two of us shared the ribeye and there was still some left over! The apps were excellent even during happy hour and were plenty big to share. Dawn the bartender is THE BEST and provides stellar service. Cant wait to go back!!

Well, this used to be our favorite secret restaurant. We would go here to have a delicious dinner and feel like we were taken back in time just walking in the door. Unfortunately, it has changed. We hadn’t been back since just before the pandemic. Apparently, it has changed ownership and it IS very apparent. No more “Steak 38 for two” where you were served a wonderful seafood platter appetizer along with table side Caesar salad and bananas flambé. The seafood appetizer was taken out of the dinner for two and the price was increased by over $30. We wouldn’t mind the price increase if we had received the same wonderful steak that we always looked forward to eating. We ordered medium and got well done and the quality….well, what used to melt in your mouth, tasted chalky, not tender and definitely not top choice. We had brought a couple with us to treat them to an experience and ended up paying $500 ,for a party of four, a mediocre, lukewarm meal that took a very long time to get, without the ambiance of Sinatra music and they forgot the table side Caesar salad. What a shame. We won’t be back. Maybe if we had known ahead of time that the ownership had changed, we wouldn’t have had our usual expectations.

We have passed this place for years and never thought to stop for dinner. After being disappointed on our last meal at The Pub, we were looking for a new steakhouse outside the usual chain places in Philadelphia. Today's craving for red meat led us to Steak 38 Cafe. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you, first appearances are deceiving. RUN DON'T WALK TO Steak 38 Cafe! The friendly hostess showed us to our table and then we met Sam, our waiter. He is a treasure. Sam gave us suggestions for cocktails, starters, and entrees. He was attentive as a waiter knowing just when you stop by the table. The entire staff's level of service was an excellent compliment to the delicious, well prepared food. My husband chose the Smoke Show cocktail which was prepared table side. Not just a flashy gimmick, the smoking truly enhanced the whiskey based cocktail. Hubby had snapper soup and I started with a delicious wedge salad. He had the 16 oz. Prime rib and I chose the chicken piccata. Both entrees came with velvety mashed potatoes and fresh sauteed green beans. The prime rib was done perfectly as was the chicken. Sam described the desert offerings so enticingly that we decided to share the vanilla cake with cannoli gelato and amatetto syrup. Decaf coffee and cappuccino rounded out one of the best meals we have had in a long time. We will be back!
