We stopped by for dinner and drinks after doing some horseback riding and a brewery tour at Canmore Brewing Company. Had a wonderful time and the bartender/waiter was such a cool guy. Food was delicious. The Margherita Flatbread is perfection. Everything was so fresh. There is outdoor seating and two restrooms, too. Free wifi.

The sever Randy was super helpful, however the owner proceeded to be severely disrespectful towards my family and I when we asked for food. The service was quick though which I enjoyed thoroughly, but I cannot believe that the owner treats its customers and employees as if we are peasants. I highly do not recommend to any family, friends, cousins, ancestors and any human being to even view/visit this pub during their beautiful trip the Banff. 1 star and very worth it.

Unfortunately this place was a huge disappointment. We are new to Canmore and decided to check this place out as we read several reviews saying they had great vegan alternatives. However, once we arrive, we got glared at by the female server who took several minutes to see if we wanted anyhing. She then told us they had no vegan options and that this place was for just locals which we are becoming. Such an unpleasant experience and since we felt so unwelcome we left.

This is pretty much the small hole-in-the-wall pub that I'd build myself! Love it!!!
Many might categorize this as a "dive bar" which, in this case, should be a badge of honour. Great bites & the house lager can be sipped on all afternoon.
If you're looking for a great small town bar to sip a decent variety of beers & snack on some good value non-standard pub grub you've now found it.
Do yourself a favour and give HY5 a visit!

Bartender Adam is a riot. Make fun of Boston sports to get him on your side early, then tip well.

Best bar ever. My first visit ever. The owner so friendly and gave me a couple of Old Style Pilsner Glasses to take home. Great food and drinks! Would highly recommend!
