Intrepid Cafe

Came here for breakfast and coffee and it was pretty good! The coffee was tasty and came out pretty quick. We got the avocado toast and smoked salmon toast as well; these took quite a bit to make for how simple they were- tasty but not extraordinary. They vibe of this place is really nice, and the music was relaxing; perfect for having a slow breakfast.

Small cafe with good WiFi. Barista was nice and knowledgeable. Seating is a bit limited, mostly hightop tables to be shared. Looks like it’s part of/ immediately adjacent to some office next door. Not really a place for food if you’re hungry. Some pastries available but looks like they get them from some other bakery as I didn’t see an oven or kitchen area. This is not necessarily a downside if that’s not what you’re looking for!

Checking back in several months later. This place has only gotten better! A great coffee-lover's shop. I've been coming semi-regularly for whole bean. The retail coffee is always fresh off roast, and always a good selection of different variety, process, or origin. The drip coffee is also on point, always a single selection, fresh within 30 minutes, brewed to proper strength and extraction. I was inspired to update my review by today's cup. If you're traveling from out of town and want a great coffee, make your way here. Friendly, helpful staff, welcoming atmosphere (though small) and a great place to pick up some gifts (chocolate and tea as well as coffee). Original review: Fancy new cafe on First Street, further away from the mall. Really nice service - I'll add a picture next time I stay in for coffee. Serving Gracenote roasters coffee. Good espresso and brewed coffee, simple light food only.

Amazing culture, staff and vibe here. The only cafe in Cambridge / Boston where I don't feel like I'm being judged or looked down upon by anybody. Really cool ambiance, music and artwork that actually makes sense for an amazing cafe. Great staff too, friendlier, kinder, more professional and dedicated to quality than almost every other cafe staff I've encountered in Boston or Cambridge/Somerville! Thank you Intrepid Cafe

I wanted the Colombian coffee but they were out. I got the ethiopian blend - was skeptical based on the description of raspberry and chocolate falvors. My god the coffee was rich in flavor. You should get the coffee for two and drink it from the porcelain cups, nice presentation. Will be back to try the other flavors.
