I am hesitant to post this review because we've been loyal customers of The Fishmonger for more than 10 years. But they've recently hired an extremely unfriendly staff member who has managed to single-handedly drive us away. We'll keep peeking in the window to see if she's there. If the situation changes we will be happy to try again and update this review.

These people know their Fish!!!! Came in for live lobsters but they dont carry. Left with 2lb mussels and a dozen littlenecks AND a tip on where to find lobstah. (Alive and Kicking on Putnam St). I will return I super liked this place.

Wonderful small place, next to Formaggio Cheese Shop, so you can get a lot of good things if you can find a parking place. The fresh fish is delicious and many seasonal specialties (e.g. shad roe in spring) appear. If you arrrive after 11 a.m., they will also have some of their cooked specialties fresh... more of them if you come at 2 p.m. ... running out of some if you squeak in at 5. The bread crumbs and soy-garlic marinade are wonderful, available almost every day. Closed on Mondays, and usually for part of August.
