Great place for a quick meal, staff are friendly and always curtious. Have dined here a few times, and the interior is always kept clean and presentable. A tad on the high side, and they charge 1.5% for credit cards and give a 2% discount for cash, so you can never truly get the price on the menu, which is why they aren't getting 5 stars.

Had a wonderful lunch with my family. The brilliant decors drawn us in and we were not disappointed. The roasts are amongst the best I had in Melbourne. The pork and duck are roasted just right, retaining their natural tenderness. The garlic Chinese cabbage were not too oily or over-seasoned. At $60 for two, this is one of the best Chinese restaurant for its price bracket.

Entrees were quite nice and presented well. I was really impressed with the spring onion pancake and dumplings. The pork buns and spring rolls were nice also. The mains looked great and were OK however they were a little bland. The chicken satay didn't taste like satay at all. I probably won't order this again. I would like to try a few other dishes and the entrees were really nice. Another thing I would like to mention was the price. I am comfortable with paying for quality food however this was priced a little over what I would have expected to pay for this meal. 3 out of 5 for me.

The service is super fast, tables cleared quickly and wait staff friendly and accomodating. I ordered steamed vegetarian dumplings and the prawn dumplings, both delicious. I will definitely be returning. Menu is extensive but I was in a hurry to eat as I had a movie to see. When I return I will try some off the other options on offer.

We have happily ordered takeaway from this restaurant for the last 2 years. Food is always good, reasonably priced and the kids love it. However.....we took our family to the restaurant for dinner for my daughter’s birthday and were shocked at the huge price difference between takeaway menu prices and restaurant prices. The owner suggested broccoli as a side and when I checked the bill we were charged $23.70 for a plate of broccoli!! That’s robbery right there!! We like to support local, however won’t be eating in again 😜

Thought we would check out the dumplings since the business name suggests that’s what they do best. Very average with little seasoning or flavour going on. The fillings were pretty non descript. Ordered 4 different types and ended up leaving 2 of them unfinished. The spring onion pancakes were a positive though. Service was non existent in that no bothered to explain how the ordering worked or follow up on why we left half our food uneaten. As for paying, they offer 2% off cash payment while adding 5% on credit card payments. That’s some dodgy practice going on there.

What an unexpected and really pleasant surprise Block 7 turned out to be yesterday. We chose this place DESPITE the name which concerned a few people in our group and so we stumbled across a place we will be returning to many times in the future. The dumplings were clearly home-made, fresh and delicious. The choices during the dim sum (or Yum cha, whatever works for you) were almost designed for every member of our family and we ended up getting almost every option offered to us. The Tea is fresh and uses leaves (instead of teabags) and the service was so good, warm, friendly and attentive. The ambience is nice, the seats are comfortable and the place was very clean. It's great value and the only reason we could think of for the one or two vacant tables was because of the restaurant name which even today still bewilders me!
