Absolutely amazing! My daughter has been telling mr about this place for about a year and I finally tried it. The menu is so good and with so many wonderful sounding dishes it was a tough choice. I had a cauliflower and goats cheese fritter on the all day breakfast menu, it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The flavour combination was just perfect and I was so disappointed I couldn't finish the whole plate. My sister had the Reuben sandwich and the brisket was so tasty. My friend, who is gluten intolerant had the eggs Benedict on gluten free toast, she said the bread was really nice, which is something she doesn't get to say often. The coffee was fine, and the juice combinations are really good. The service was fantastic and we arrived 40 minutes before they closed, which was plenty of time, but they were so apologetic that they closed at 1, honestly, it was still heaps of time. There's on street parking down the side road, but there's also parking out the back, via the side road too. I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes. They do say they can cater to specific dietary needs and to simply ask staff, which is great. They also had quite a few vegetarian options. Definitely worth a visit.

Service and standards are a bit hit and miss. When they're good, they're excellent - but when they're not, they're slow and underwhelming.
Breakfast pics attached was awesome. 15 minutes wait for banana bread when the place had two other tables is poor.
I will probably give the place one more go.

Once again an awesome meal from Grub Street. My wife and I visited on the weekend and nothing has changed. Same quick and easy service. Same fantastic tasting food. Their menu is always interesting making the choice of meals difficult but every item tried so far has been wonderful. Can happily recommend this restaurant!

This place is worth going to check out. Nice thick cut toast bacon and eggs on point and the staff are so lovely. Even in winter the sun shines in to warm your back while you eat the delicious food and sip on your fav beverage.

Absolutely amazing food for great prices, coffee is great too. Very dog friendly and I love this place. New favourite. Bread is so fresh and crispy on the outside soft on the inside.

A real nice place to relax and be with your thoughts or have a fun conversation with your friends. Food is amazing and healthy. The menu has a great and balanced selection of food, both vegan and gluten free. The coffee is perfect and has a great taste. If you want to support local businesses, Grub Street should be on your list.

Grub St Cafe is amazing! The owner and staff are all so cheerful and are willing to have a chat with customers. The food is the best I've had at a cafe and generous in servings. I would definitely recommend this cafe.

Delicious and arrangement of different types of breakfast meals, catering to all groups. Friendly service and great coffee. Outdoor area thats dog friendly but was raining when I came so my poor pups stayed at home.

We visited this cafe for breakfast. It seems to be quite popular. We had coffee, smashed avo and Bircher muesli. Coffee was ok. Smashed avo and muesli were great. I would rate the cafe 4.5/5.<br/>Very good price and good service.

My long black did the job, a rather impersonal vibe lacking a little atmosphere but friendly and quick service. My company enjoyed a smoothie and an uneventful cappuccino. 3.0<br/><br/>The coffee quality has improved and so has the vibe, nice getting a smile in the morning. We have become regulars for a nice large long black with an extra shot.

Just checked out the new wine bar.... Tapas,wine, beer and Espresso Martinis doesn't get any better than that on a Saturday night... Great chilled out vibe.. Definitely worth the visit,will be back

Visited this cafe last weekend morning (they open for 7 days). It located on a prime position that was so eye-catching that it is definitely sought after by locals. Walked in to order my coffee and the gentleman (believe to be the boss) gave me a robotic service and I was not even told to take a seat for my coffee. It really took a long waiting time that I almost thought my order was missed. I saw the barista was continuously making the coffee while she was talking to different regulars who came for take-always. No wonder it is so slow. I understand that they try to tell peoples be relaxed and sit there to enjoy their lives. However, a more efficient service would be much appreciated; having said that the farewell greeting and smile from the barista really gained back a lot of marks. Moreover, the coffee was not bad and you could enjoy it with your lovely pet in the outdoor seating area (Diana, you would like it, wouldn't you?)

I cannot understand why many of these reviews state that the coffee is great. I lived in Melbourne so I know good coffee. This<br/>place is terrible. The coffee is weak despite asking for an extra shot. The food is average...if I go out for breakfast, I would like food that is better than I could prepare myself at home. The food menu is so basic. The cheap breakfast specials may draw people in, but you won't get return customers. The staff are not friendly. The interior is dark and depressing. Such a shame as I live nearby. I would love a great cafe on my doorstep. Unfortunately this is far from a great cafe, or even an average cafe. Disappointing.

So slow and bad service, unless you're male. I just wanted a coffee. There was two other people waiting, they got their coffees before she stopped making coffees and walked away from the machine. I was made to wait while the owner flirted and talked to a male who came into the shop. Clearly it is ok by the owner to make a regular paying customer wait 15 mins while she does up someones cuff links. <br/>I walk out without getting my money back and without a coffee. I am never going back there. The coffee is not that great, it's just close to where I work. I will be advising everyone in my office not to go there. Unless you're male of course. Then you will get service that goes above and beyond.

Friendly service, Fresh eats. My partner and I visit here regularly for just a coffee or something more substantial for breakfast. Service is always friendly and attentive and the food is fresh and tasty.

Was expecting great things here, but the coffee didn't cut it for me. Had a rather bitter taste & a huge amount of foam with not much crema. The barista was nice enough & they do some simple freshly prepared breakfast dishes<br/>2/7/16 Actually decided to try again as I was with my partner & the planned breakfast venue was closed so this one was the first we passed as an alternative. The coffee was better this time around & I loved the avocado with dukkah. Partner was unimpressed with his eggs, as one was broken & overcooked & hidden by the good one which they sneakily placed on top

Shared avo on toast & the holumi stack special - both of which were delicious!! Only complaint would be that they were both served on old school thick white toast which was buttered - my preference would have been non white bread & no butter had I known. Coffee was amazing as per usual - it is my partners favourite & we often travel from The Gap just for this alone.

All in all this was a really nice coffee experience, and definitely heightened by sharing it with a bunch of guys who are just as passionate about their coffee as I am. And for me, it was also a valuable reminder of how rewarding it can be to seek out new cafés; and sometimes first impressions can be deceiving.<br/>

Crap Coffee. Unfortunately this little cafe is close to my workplace. The staff are temperamental. The owner is rude to staff and tends to put on a very forced smile. The coffee is actually disgusting, overpriced, very very very inconsistent, often tastes like luke-warm burnt milk despite requesting extra shots. There is such a high turnover of staff and a new barrista every other week. My whole workplace thinks the same and has noticed a rapid decline in quality and service in the last 3 or so months. A real shame.

Delicious!. The coffee here is great! Definitely a favourite. Very rich, smooth and caramely. The staff are lots of fun and know their regulars by name and order which is great, and Nathan the barista sure knows what he's doing. This place is my regular for a reason :)

Was there this morning and my coffee was lacking in flavour. The owner was very rude-no eye contact or basic manners. This has happened on more than one occasion and I will not be back.

Expensive for what you get. The standard coffee and over priced under sized food. Waitress was nice & friendly. The coffee is not as good as the other two roasters in brisbane as they roast fresh whereas caffineespresso tasted quite old.

I wont be returning. Owner was rude to staff. That is my absolute pet hate with small shops & these people will whine about not being able to get reliable staff & that kids today are lazy. <br/><br/>I observed this for a min or so & then politely asked a question myself only to have a answer barked out without the owner making eye contact. <br/><br/>They could be selling gold in cups ...i wont be back. On that note i think there coffee was old as it was strong but no flavour.

Fantastic Coffee, Fantastic People. Great little spot for the morning and lunchtime coffee.<br/>Staff here are always fun and happy. Coffee is so ridiculously good and the perfect temperature. I highly recommend the haloumi stack for breakfast and Danielle's homemade sauce to go with it.

I see this cafe all the time - my second favourite riding route takes me straight past it. I often see a lot of cyclist there early in the morning, then people relaxing at the side walk tables as the morning progresses. An acquaintance recently told me of their amazing $10 Saturday morning breakfast over beers at the QA, so, with the help of some friends, we tried it out. Hard to pass up this Saturday morning only special. Located on the dog leg on Commercial Drive where it meets Florence St (conveniently across the road from a CityCycle station), Caffeine Espresso offers standard breakfast fare, such as muesli, toasted sandwiches, as well as some decently priced cookies, muffins and savouries for the snack friendly. I was there for the $10 breakfast though... It was two eggs, scrambled with chives (made with cream I think) on a thick buttered slice of sour dough, with 3 pieces of bacon, a thick slice of tomato and an orange

Great coffee with a smile. As the name suggests, Caffeine Espresso are serious about their coffee. They serve their own powerful, but not burnt blend, appropriately named 'Krank.'<br/><br/>I live quite close to this café, and the smell of great coffee as I pass by each morning on my run or ride spurs me on to finish faster so I can get my fix.<br/><br/>Caffeine Espresso is smart enough not to get too fancy. Although there is a food menu, it is very light and simple, so they can concentrate on providing the best possible coffee without compromise. <br/><br/>To top it all off, the staff are friendly and efficient: always willing to proffer a smile. Just what you need to kick start your day in the right way.
