Windmill Restaurant

I've never had a bad meal here. Dogs are grilled and have the perfect snap. We always get cheese fries and the fried mushrooms with horseradish sauce. Wash it down with a root beer or another soft drink. Fixins bar has everything you could ever want to put on your dog and pickles too! Kids size hot dog is the perfect portion also.

I enjoyed my first experience at the Windmill Hot Dog Stand upon a recommendation of an 89 year old man. He said the hotdogs are awesome and I totally agree. On oversized dog that dwarfs the bun. The hotdogs has a nice pop to it as the skin/casing is substantial. I also had some french fries, generous portions, fed three of us. My son had a chicken sandwich, tasty, but a bit charred. The staff was friendly and helpful, gladly providing mayo as a side for our fries. I would recommend this place if you like a great , good value hotdog.

For the money, find somewhere else to eat. Burgers are small and overpriced, fries are ok but under seasoned. How it got Zagat rated is beyond me. A hamburger, bacon cheeseburger, 2 fries and 2 drinks were 25.00. Really??? 2.69 for a Pepsi? The fountain machine was broken and a key for the bathroom? Next! Don't come here to eat!!

What a disappointment!!! I have lived at the shore for the past 30 years and have been to the Windmill at different locations. I must admit I haven't been to one in about 8-10 years. I actually bragged about how good the food was to my fiance. Walked in and it was dead. 12 pm on a Sunday. No fountain soda (machine down), so if you'd like something to drink it's a 20 oz. bottle of something. 2 burgers... 1 was a specialty with stuff on it, the other plain. 2 fries 2 drinks one pepsi one aquafina water TOTAL BILL: $25.36 $ 2.69 for a 20 oz. Pepsi and $ 2.50 for a bottle of Aquafina. We we're ROBBED!! 7-11 is cheaper nextdoor. Lunacy, complete lunacy!! The food was awful. NOT what I remembered at all. I would have been happier with McDonald's. You need a key to use the restroom. Why? Sign says for customer's ONLY. Seriously?? So lame. If I had to go wouldn't they rather have me use the toilet than the floor? While in one of the 2 stalls that were operable, the lights went out. Yup. Sitting in a pitch black bathroom. What The Heck????!! Don't bother stopping. It isn't worth the trip!!! McDonald's is a mile down the road!!! I will never return.

Love the fries and hot dogs, food prepared when you order. Served hot and fast. Store is clean and staff was friendly. Last review was over a year ago. This review was in Asbury. Small seating area, very clean,. Had 2 dogs and fries. The hot dogs are huge and the fries were a generous portion. All served with a smile and hot food. I love this place. It serves hamburgers and hot dogs and a few other items on the board. Never had a problem. Thanks Windmill, I'll be back

Decent food, although if I'm paying $6 for a hot dog, the least they can do is put some mustard and onions on the chili dog so I don't have to wait in another line to add these items. And the customer service on the day I was there ( Saturday 4/14/18) leaves much to be desired. Condescending attitude from the onion ring fryer (which were very good by the way) does not sit well with me. The hot dog was good but the bun was dry and the canned chili was tasteless. And by the time I got to the onion and mustard the hot dog and tasteless chilli was cold.

The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Perfect for families and the staff are friendly, they had a conversation with us when we waited for our food, which only took a minute after we ordered! There's condiment bars on both sides for our convenience, which other windmills don't offer. The restaurant it's self is in great condition and not shabby at all. There's paintings up on the wall that represent New Jersey and this area, like a map and a windmill. Stop in at time, you will not be disappointed.
