Windward Tavern

05/21/2022: Dinner for 2 @Saturday evening. Service was prompt & courteous as usual. We enjoyed the Fried Pickle appe, Ahi Wrap (Wasabi was just enough!) and a California BLT with a Yuengling. Server did not bring exactly what was asked but the dinner was great otherwise. I've eaten here before and will do so again. Well Done! ed

My hubby and I went to Windward Tavern 2 weeks ago. I cannot believe I've never been to this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. The service was great. We opted to eat at the bar (since we did not have our kids). All the bartenders were very attentive and made sure our drinks were filled. Great family friendly atmosphere. There's a band on Friday's so that was a plus. The salmon was so delicious, it was cooked to perfection. Their pizza was really good too. We love it so much, we went back the following weekend. I heard their burgers is must try. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

We got there about the time of day to night shift change. Our waitress, Ellen, was extremely attentive and offered to clear our table after we had paid and she was walking out with her jacket! Such dedication. And it seemed that all employees had the same attitude. We had the Chicken Pot Pie and Chicken with Artichokes in a wine sauce over linguine. Both dishes were very good. The dinner came with a small salad with homemade dressings. The dressings were delicious and served on the side. Would highly recommend The Windward Tavern. Can't wait to go back.

Due to shortage on staff all diners were seated inside. Felt a bit cramped and overwhelming. Staff was attentive but clearly overwhelmed. Our table had the classic skins, the chicken française, one of the burgers and shrimp pasta dish. We ordered a hot dog for a 3 year old that was longer than her arm, the waitress never mentioned the size. Overall food took a bit to bring but everything was delicious.

I used the handicapped entrance and it was dangerous. There was a table directly in front of the door. I use a walker & both entering and leaving a person had to get up from the table so I could pass. I had trouble maneuvering around the tables & high chairs as there was very little room. I mentioned to the hostess that it was dangerous. Her answer to me was they were very busy. Being busy has nothing to do with safety. Customers safety should be a priority.

I have been here many times, and have had very nice meals with my family. Today I was there, late afternoon with my family. I ordered the same thing I usually order, steak tips with horseradish sauce. I can’t tell you how bad this meal was. The steak, which is Filet, was so fatty I had to spit most out in my napkin. The rest were so over salted I actually drank my iced tea and my grandsons apple juice. I told our server Cole but he didn’t seem interested. Next outing I may consider another restaurant.
