Caffe Piccolo

Caffè Piccolo is conveniently located near the centre of Shipley and the staff are friendly. But what makes this place stand out is top quality and excellent value. I had a Medium Breakfast with egg, beans, tomatoes, 2 hash brown, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 spam, and 2 toast. All for £5. The bacon is exceptionally good. Also there is a good choice of breakfast and lunch with daily specials.

I had originally intended to order poached eggs with toast or Eggs Florentine however these weren't on the menu and scrambled eggs did not feel as though it was going to satisfy me. I ordered pancakes and bacon and an apple juice instead. The pancakes arrived and to my surprise, they were homemade. Usually when one orders pancakes in a cafe, the pancakes which arrive are of the scotch instant variety, at Caffe Piccolo this is pleasantly not the case. The pancakes were absolutely delicious and paired wonderfully with the Lyle's Golden Syrup which the cafe provided, and were served on clean crockery and clean cutlery. While I ate, I enjoyed a friendly atmosphere which was bustling but not crowded. The staff are pleasant and the cafe itself is aesthetically pleasing and brings to mind a time of simpler affairs when one could order a breakfast, a tea and just enjoy the experience rather than being bombarded with loud art-pieces and trash tabloids and not be forced to navigate the arena in a way not dissimilar to an action-adventure videogame protagonist. I would recommend this place for everyone of every age, it offers a suitable atmosphere which anyone could enjoy. Lovely place, great priced food and a reasonable selection of traditional dishes. I will definitely visit again, especially if poached eggs are added to the menu!

Very pleasant and very clean café. Decent menu with lots of options and a very decent cappuccino (cheaper than Costa, too!). Surprised not to find more Italian options on the menu but the full English breakfast looks great so very tempted to come back for breakfast some time soon. Was much too quiet when I visited - would encourage people to drop in, the prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Piccolo Cafe yesterday, although I only had bacon egg and chips. It was hot clean, perfectly cooked. The staff seemed friendly and happy to wait on a customer . I finished my lunch off with a good strong cappuccino coffee. A superb place to eat.Clean, tidy, and well presented. Highly recommended.
