Went for a one off night out and I’m definitely going back! The staff were so friendly and the environment was incredible especially as it isn’t my usual, I still felt included! Even drinking a lemonade was amazing quality and friendly staff One of the bartenders were so quick to clear up empty cups and refill!

took my step daughter here last night, for a meal in Modern Times. She is over from Grand Cayman, where food is a big thing. This surpassed everything we have eaten out there, when we visit. The staff were friendly. The food was fabulous , so tasty and great value. Good sized portions . Nice relaxed atmosphere. I always recommend this restaurant to all of my guests who visit my guest house. Never had a bad comment made. This place is a true hidden gem. We'd been past on the bus a thousand times but never been in, today we took the plunge and were so glad we did. If you like chain bars, this isn't the place for you, as it is individual, quirky and welcoming, with friendly and efficient service, great decor packed with Charlie Chaplin themed art and spectacular food. We visited on a Sunday and had the most beautiful roast dinner, freshly cooked, hot and delicious. For a couple of quid more we added a pudding each, which were generous and plate-lickingly good. However, the best part of our visit was the service and welcome from the staff, who couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay as much as they clearly enjoyed their work. Don't be fooled, Boscombe doesn't have the best reputation, and from the outside you might pass Chaplins by, but step over the threshold as we did and you'll not be disappointed.

Possible my most favourite place in Bournemouth/Boscombe to drink, eat, and listen to music. Eclectic decor inside and outside, and in the cellar. Great range craft and cask ales, lagers and wines. Service always friendly and efficient with a great mix of clientelle of all ages and background.l. Live music in cellar is varied range from ska to rock, folk to jazz. Give it a go!!!
