Takeout joint that I've been going to for many years when I have a hankering for soul food/bbq. Smoked BBQ chicken, dry rub ribs, and brisket on Fridays. Usually order the beans, mac, greens and/or slaw for sides--and sweet potato pie. Both sweet and hot sauces are my favorite sauce anywhere, with a preference for the hot. Service at the counter can be a little disorganized, but just had a beautiful 1/2 chicken dinner delivered very quickly on a Saturday night. Very flavorful smoky chicken, not too salty or dried out as some bbq chicken can be. Out of many meals I had 1 chicken be a little dry, but that was only once. My favorite bbq in Boston. Much prefer it to Blue Ribbon.

I first was introduced to the PIT STOP in the mid nineties. I have eaten a lot of different restaurants which have barbecue on the menu.I find that the PIT STOP is the best. Now with online ordering capability, which makes it easier to place your order. I used this feature twice. Each time my order was ready when promise. They give you a lot for your money. Outstanding Customer Service!

It was a nice little spot. I will make it there again . I wonder if there is a variety of BBQ flavors. I only saw the same one in the storage shed.

I rate this establishment as one of the best barbers around for $12.40 you get 6 ribs and two slices of bread . The ribs are meaty and tender delicious I am a cook myself and they totally impressed me

This was some delicious ribs. Felt like ribs that you would get from a BBQ. You could taste the freshness and you could tell that the ribs came right from the grill. Make this one of your "pit stops", lol.

-Collard Greens needs more pepper to spice it up.
-Mac&Cheese needs flavor but texture is good.
-Yams are slightly sweet, really mashed up.
-Chicken could have charred a little for color.
-BBQ sauce needs more black pepper, but great idea to place it in separate container (no spills).
Let me just say, it was an Ubereats order and took so long that 3 drivers canceled on me.
The picture is of my prepared plate at home.
I will order again, but the food isn’t over the top. But maybe the best in the area.

Absolutely phenomenal Authentic BBQ. Truly a landmark in Boston. Met the owners I believe, very humble and nice people and got a walk thru of their smoker! Very excited as a chef to see see how soul cooking was done! Highly recommend

Such amazing ribs all cooked very slowly , you do have to wait about 30-45 mins for your order but they are awesome !! Very old-school place and the sauce is out of this world get extra! Only open 3 days a week Thursday Friday and Saturday. You will enjoy
