Come Back Shack

Southern heat patty melt was delicious and the cheese fries came in a box with toppings all over them. It was great. I will say I wiped some salt off the pretzel, but after that the pretzel and cheese were amazing too 😂 We went twice while we were in Boone because we went for lunch one day and my family, who are locals, heard we went and had to go too. Great place.

It is very rare that small place like this personifies its name. This place has such an amazing cold brew coffee that we had to take a detour of 10 miles and "come back" to this place to get it. Also, there is a drive-through for quick needs with cute interesting messages on the sides In Summary, even with its shortcomings, I am giving it a 5 star because of the amazing cold brew - Ambiance 4/5: A great place with automated ordering. The place has ample seating inside and outside and has free parking to its left. - Service 4/5: I think the automation has become a problem because there is only 1 kiosk to order and then you get a message on your phone about the readiness and it jams up the place because of this. This was the reason that the food was served late to us - Food 6/5: Had a couple of quick bites here: a) Burger: My wife liked the burger here. I didn't try it b) cold brew coffee: I can't recommend this enough. I am a non-coffee drinker and I still came here twice. Its a must-try - Value for money 5/5: Not a very costly place so definitely recommended They are a small business that does not have many branches( i believe there is one more location) so definitely recommend trying their cold brew coffee!

Updated review a year later.. Moved opening time to 10:30 am which I am really glad they did. Got in line a few minutes early and was promptly open at 10:30. Food came out super quick and was hot and delicious. My blueberry shake was mid this time. Still glad I had a chance to eat there before leaving town! First review: Love the Come Back Shack in Boone... and so does everyone else! They have done a good job streamlining the process to keep the lines moving. Great hamburgers and an excellent tuna sandwich! That's our favorite that we must have while on the mountain. Had issue with order one time and they made it right as rain! We will always come back..

We visit Come Back Shack daily on all our trips to Boone. It never disappoints! All fresh ingredients and so many toppings to choose from, including house-made sauces and pickles. Always cooked to perfection. Their fries and fresh-made lemonade are stellar. Bonus points for their indoor/outdoor seating options. This place is so fire!

What a great place for a delicious burger and shake! Not sure I'm totally sold on having to order on my phone or on the kiosk but it works. I'm sure it's fine for the younger crowd but I'm catching on. The sweet potato chips were good and I don't even like sweet potatoes. I had an original burger and seasoned fries and a chocolate peanut butter shake that was great.

Great food. I love that they can turn anything into a lettuce wrap. Management appear to treat their employees better than the usual fast food restaurant. There is a designated area where staff can sit down and take a break. My complaint is that you can only order online. There is no person-to-person ordering option. This wouldn't be so bad if their location wasn't a deadzone. One of their very helpful staff came around and handed out tablets for us to order and that solved things :)
