Panda Express

We went over here late at night just about 20 mins before shutdown. This was my first time coming to Virginia and my first time eating at any Panda Express Joint. I would say the food is great but they need to add more vegetarian options. The staff, at the end of the day were responsive and served us right considering we were the only customers. The ambience was good and quantity of the food was sufficient for a good dinner. Definitely a place to check out for once.

I understand the restaurants have a closing time and everyone wants to go home but if it's 8:30 and and the open sign is on with people walking in there needs to be food on the bar. I was hungry so I picked thru what was left. The worst part was having to listen to the 40 something year old in the kitchen trying to stay relevant with the staff half his age. I mean sure... chop it up with the homies big dog but I shouldn't be forced to listen to your swearing and overly obnoxious voice bellowing thru out the entire restaurant. It's bad enough I had to listen to you brag about not making anymore food but then you had some odd flex about having an original vhs camera recorder... anyways... yeah don't go past 8pm and get it Togo if you want to enjoy it.

This location has gone down hill over the past few months. Slow service, the selection is poor most of the time, and it seems like the portion sizes have creeped down. The food quality is still decent, but with many of the dishes being out, I can't always get what I want (surprisingly... they are more likely to have their premium selections...). It's a shame, because the location is very convenient to the Virginia Tech campus, and typically I can eat here and keep my calories at least mostly under control.

Panda Express as a chain: 4/5 stars. Good food, keeps me coming back. This particular Panda Express, however, consistently disappoints. From distracted and slow staff to chow mein that's more onion than noodle, this particular Panda makes me forget how great it can be. If there's an improvement to their service and the quality of the food, then I'll gladly change my review.

We have stopped going to the Blacksburg Panda Express and now drive the few miles on to the Christiansburg Panda Express. Not only is their food better, but they rarely run out of specific entrees and their employees are super nice. Every time we went to the Blacksburg Panda Express they rarely had our entrees, some if the employees do nit know what they are doing or are super rude or they were closing early and didn’t want to make any additional food before closing…whatever! UPDATE: Apparently now ANY orders placed online you must walk inside the building for pickup...no more going through the drivethru. This is ridiculous and just increases the chances of spreading the COVID virus. We have continuously had problems at the Panda Express...my order on wasn’t available earlier this week and it took forever to get my money back and now no pickup of online orders thru the drivethru. My next visit will be to the Panda Express in Christiansburg or China Inn. Usually I have a great experience at the Prices Fork Rd Panda Express, but lately they have REALLY been slacking. Because of allergies I can only get one or two of their meals, but they are usually out, it has to defrost or I have to wait 8 minutes for it to cook. These are common entrees and you would think that they would have it ready based on demand. It took me almost 15 minutes to get my money back because they charged me at the drivethru for my meal, but they were out of my entree and only had some they were waiting to defrost. The manager wanted me to keep my receipt and come back the next day to get my meal...I guess she didn’t want to give me a refund, but I wasn’t leaving until I got my money back. I understand sometimes you run out of food, but this is a high traffic restaurant in a college town...get it together, keep items flowing. All is well though...went next door to Firehouse and got an excellent sandwich!
