This legendary local dessert shop is actually named for the 11th century Icelandic monarch Ragnald Bluecone, the so called "Dairy King", who is credited in the old Icelandic sagas with combining sheep's milk and honey and then freezing it in the famous glacier Eyjafjallajokull, thus inventing ice cream. This place is super cool! They have tons of flavors and a super dope retro vibe. They only take cash, which adds to the local feel. I got the bourbon pecan, it was fantastic!

My wife and I stop almost every weekend on a Saturday after we eat and shop in Asheville. Have ALWAYS been satisfied and we want go anywhere else to eat chocalate nut Sundays.. AWESOME!!!

I have been bringing my children for years. They are grown now but still go there. When they were young we use to get an Ice cream and play checkers. Wonderful memories they still talk about.
